Default Need info about Tucson area flying fields

Hi, I will be moving to Tuscon, AZ on the 20th of November and need to get info and/or comments about flying fields in the area that accept 3D flying.
Thanks,
Teryn

Dude, one of the best events (The Tuscon Shootout) is being held as we speak at the park you want to fly at. I've been to this RC park and it is awesome. I went there for a long weekend to check out their Jet Rally. Excellent field and a bunch really cool people.

This is the RC club that leases the field.

Here's a web site that is covering the event so you can see pic's.

I was out there on business last Feb and was hunting a spot. There are 4 clubs in Tucson, depending on where you want to be. You can eve do a little soaring off "A" mtn. There is a very good LHS I think it is called Hobby Barn that will help you find or get in touch with one of the clubs. I also had a warm reception while I was there. I was talking to a guy about his new 9C and helped him with some of his programing and shared a few tricks about flying in a steady breeze (something they do not do out there apperently) and had a wonderful afternoon. He even shared the sticks with me!

The only thing is that I thought it was a pretty long drive from the city. I remember it being about 45 minutes west of Tucson. My field is only 15 minutes from me so I'm kind of spoiled I guess.

There is one field right in Tucson behind the water treatment plant. "A" mtn is fairly close to downtown. The field I went to was maybe 10 miles northwest of town.[:-] Everything I saw was less than 20 min from the airport.

thanks...If anyone could tell me specific locations (direction and miles) relative to the airport for any of the clubs that would be great.

Go to my post #2 and click on the link to the Tucson Warbirds association. Click on the link TIMPA in the left-center of the page. Go down to location and views and there is a good map. Also there are e-mail addresses of people on that site. Go ahead and e-mail them.
