Default How to ship kits?

I have a Tower Kaos kit and a Sig 4*120 kit that I am going to auction on EBay. How should I ship these to the future buyers? Can the kit box be shipped as is? Any recommendations for the carrier (UPS, FEDEX)?

Wrap it in brown paper and address as you would any large parcel, I've had three kits shipped to me that way and they're fine.

Make sure that all the wood and stuff is packed good inside the kit. Put news paper in them so stuff don't shift.

I would use Fed Ex. they are cheaper than ups. And I think they are faster.

I have to agree with this wrap the kit in the heavy brown postal paper and tape it up good and the kit arrival should be okay.

Additional paper inside the box to help keep things from shifting around would be appreciated too..

Cheers,

I would recommend FedEx for the cheapest rate. I had a long box to ship it it was a good $10-15 cheaper to go FedEx. Even compared to the bus! You can go to the FedEx website and get actual shipping charges if you know your box dimensions, weight and the destination.

Thanks guys. That helps a lot. I think that I will also strongly encourage the winning bidder to buy insurance. It's quite cheap compared to the value of the kits.

May I suggest the Post Office? I've shipped a few kits recently Priority Mail and some have reached their destination in two days. Price is pretty good as well. Some kits I haven't wrapped, just taped shut. Paper to keep stuff in place is a very good idea. Kits have arrived in very good shape according to the buyers.
