Default mini Funtana

I just purchased a Mini Funtana by E-Flite. I have read several postings on RC Universe that recommends strengthening the undermount for the landing gear. It does look flimsy. I am putting a Nippy 1210/103 for power with a Jeti 18 A ESC. I will need to move the motor 1 1/2 inches forward in order for the prop adapter to clear the cowl. Looking for suggestions on how to accomplish that. Am also interested in keeping the wt. down as well. Thinking of a lite ply motor box like I've seen on the larger gassers. Too heavy??
