Terrible instruction manual for the Futaba 14MZ. Your basically on your own to learn the most complicated radio on the Market.
What??? the 14MZ is as easy as pie! Perhaps this is a case of more money than brains

Just kidding... Just kidding... I know the manual (If you can call it that) is nearly impossible to make sense of[8D]

The so called club expert, the guy always talking and spewing opinions, that somehow always seems to have the most influence on the new guys who swallow everything he says as gospel.
Just reading this amusing, old thread and getting a kick out of it. We have a guy like that too. He's always telling club members how they can make their plane better and in reality he's a newbie and pretty inexperienced. Maybe it's because he's a full scale pilot. Another one that makes me chuckle is the guy who quit flying after he bought a motorcycle. He still shows up, but riding his bike and watches with a sour look on his face and says airplanes bore him and he's not going to reup his club membership, but then he gets upset when he doesn't get a invite to the fun flys. Lol.

Uh... Parents who politely ask if their child (anywhere from 3 to 10 with no prior experience) can fly my model. It is incredibly awkward to try to explain that they just won't be able to without sounding like a know it all. I really hate it. []

Also the "I have a 90 mph car, so this will be easy" attitude is a bit hard to deal with...

The questions

"how high will it fly?"
"how fast will it go?"
"what happens if it crash's"
"How much did that cost?"

"Can I get one at Wal-Mart?"

"I have an Air Hogs RC plane too!"

"Can you put a real gun on it and shoot stuff - that would be AWESOME"

"I saw one of those full of explosives on YouTube"

people who post questions here on RCU, get answers and some questions to help answer their questions, but they never have the courtesy to come back and answer, say thx or just plain say KMA.

The only beef I have is the way manufactures like discontinuing products after only 3 years in production. Hobbico, Hanger 9, and Greatplanes are guilty of that just to name a few.

The JR11X instruction "manual". I've seen Johava's witness phamplets thicker than that manual!

That guy who comes to the field and knows soooo much.  Funny how I have NEVER seen him with a plane.

And I am a crappy pilot.

1. Metric vs standard
2. Proprietary balance taps
3. Servo motors that are designed to handle more current than their connectors can handle
4. Not being able to buy servos with different wire lengths (hate extensions)
5. People who like to fly one at a time
6. People who like to fly at the same time but go the wrong way
7. .....

hehe, this thread really got me laughing. Things are pretty same here in Europe.

We have club presidents who claim club's funds for their own purposes, pompous know it all members, you name it, we have it.
Worst thing is that we have a member who gets paid extra for moving the lawn (20$ annual fee + 10$ for moving the lawn). Our field is roughly 30 meters wide and 200 meters long, but all he moves is 10 x 50 meters square in center of the field and claims that that square is enough for electrics they are flying. No concern for glow and gas members, whatsoever... This year grass around his square got 3 feet high.

All my dog did was eat one little sandwich.

OK, so this guy brings a sub sandwich. He opens it up, spreads the paper out and lays it on the floor of his van, then goes off for an hour to BS. What self-respecting bird dog isn't going to think, "It's on the floor, it's mine." At least she took the paper over several cars and hid it.

I miss Dixie. 10 years at the field and never once stepped on or damaged a plane. She did get bit by a rattlesnake once under the trees behind the pits. She survived. At least the snake didn't bite one of the kids.
