2-56 threaded rod

RE: 2-56 threaded rod
Dubro only sell it in 12" lengths. The only other #2-56 rod I've found is from McMaster-Carr and it is also 24" maximum. I found some stainless steel machine threaded, still 24" at Smallparts.com
I think there are two reasons for the short length. If you look at the all thread section in the hardware store, most of the small rods look a lot like pretzles. Shipping and storage without damage is a problem. The other reason is that there really isn't a practical application for threaded rods that small and of that length.
If you want threads on both ends, you are going to be limited to either using a solder coupling or solder on threaded end, or welding two end threaded rods end to end. You are not likely to get a usable pushrod doing that. I personally like the solder on threaded ends. It is easy to gage the final length and it gives a clean and strong joint.

DuBro, which usually means your LHS will carry it if they are worth anything at all.

Local hobby store has Du-Bro but only 1” threaded on one side. That’s all I could find on Towers site also.

What is it you want exactly? How long a piece of continiously threaded rod do you want.
