I do not know how many tracks in the UK but over seas RC is more popular or it seems that way. I hope one day you get to race and if you are like I you will never be happy with bashing again. What is the closes track to you and how far away is it?

I was a bashers for years, then went once to the track, and never came back to the bashing area lol, it just gets boring after a while, and when you race, you never get bored!

Hey guys, I received the Orange Springs for the H8.5 Big Bores from Taiwan today. I had to take a small preload I had in the front shocks and put it in the rear, I like how the suspension feels with these springs and I also like how the ground clearence ended up. I'll test them tomorrow at the races. Here are some pics:

I'm running a Werks TLB3 21 engine right now but in the next couple of weeks i'll be running a Ninja [>:]

Hey, guys havn't been around to converse latly. (been looking into the CRT .5 too much)

Looking around on eBay and all of a sudden there are alot of Hyper 8/8.5s for sale so I might just have to pick me up one.

zJatoRad have you tested the Advantage wheels yet?

Also if I get a normal Hyper 8 not the pro version am I really missing out on anything? I am sure I would upgrade as time goes on but I might be able to get one locally that has most of the upgrades but started out as RTR.

Will not be long before my new 8.5 will be ready to break in with my new STS D21T MKII and our new track with a centerline of 1,100 feet is all so just about ready.

They are designed so much better then most of the other mini nitros, they are a little bigger but they are in the same layout as normal 1/8 scales and have 1/8 clutchs and used small blocks and now with standard servos. But I also realized I could almost get a good Hyper 8/8.5 setup for how much I would spend on a CRT .5.

The CRT .5 are cute but there is NO way I would take it over my Hyper 8 or 8.5 Pro!!! They started a class for them here in Georgia at a few tracks but they just do not handle the tracks as well as the 1/8 buggies do.

ProcessRacing ~ I have tested the advantage racing wheels and am very pleased with them. The are much lighter than the ofna spoked wheels I have been using for the past six years and are very tough. I've been using them for about three weeks now. I've had a few awkward landings on them and even smacked a plywood wall at the end of a back straight when I missed my braking point a couple of times. These wheels are as strong as Advantage racing products claims.

hi there i just got myself a 8.5 pro to start racing , i feel like the stock foam is a bit big for the tire ?
do you just put it like that or cut something ?
and also i was told no pull start for this kit unless i change the engine mount right ?

Good chance with the stock mounts you will not be able to run a pull starter, as the pull starter will hit the chassis. If you are going to race you would be much better off using a starter box! I have a Hyper 8 and I am building a 8.5 out of pieces but do not have the stock 8.5 tires and foams so I cannot say much about this issue but I can say some foams do need to be trimmed with some tires.

stock tires wear out extremely fast even on dirt but they did hook up great, I didn't had to trim the foam, I just fitted it in there

is the clutch assembly for the 8.5 the same for the 8?
on the manual iam a bit lost with all the different shim/washer , also the clutch nut is not the same that on the drawing , its a bit rounder on one side , i guess this side goes to the clutch as the flat side retain the fly wheel ?
thx for any infos on the assembly for 8.5 !
ps : my engine rub a little the chassis on the test fit , there is a resess for the engine to sit , but still i need to sit it a bit higher ,0.5mm, where should i put spacer or shim , between engine mount and engine or engine mount /chassis ?
if i do it to only one side of the engine is it ok , it will titl a little on the center of the car .

The 8.5 has a lighten flywheel and alloy shoes but both the 8 and 8.5 mount similar. The shims are for spacing the flywheel and to set the end play on the CB. Yes the rounded part on the flywheel nut goes towards the CB or that is how I have all ways run it on my 8 for well over 9 gallons. Will not be much longer and my 8.5 will be running.

ok thank you very much , the shimming is between the nut and the first bearing of the CB right ?
i have mounted it with 0.2mm of end play , with the smallest washer , i can have any more play ,sound good ?
What about the engine not sitting flush on the car should i add a tabb of something between engine and mount ?

I shim my CB after the nut with shims before the first bearing and after the last bearing before the screw.
