Default RE: Official Hyper 8 Thread

Me just this pass weekend

Steve pak: Hyper 8 was on point this weekend. A lot of people thought
the same thing about it when we talked about it.

The acceleration was unreal. It accelerated like it had a rocket pack
on it. Steve and I talked some about it after his first run and he
likes it better than his 777 sp2. It handles like a dream. It jumps
super good and straight. It was very STABLE. It jumped out of the
turns super well.

He ran 441 this weekend.

Arms upper lay down all the in on the tower.
Rear third hole in from the top.
20 deg front hubs
3 rear toe.

Maybe he will post what he has Monday or tues.

I want to run mine, but I was going to save it for this weekend. I was
thinking I would break something, but Steve drove it like he did not
care. Hahah

I’m sorry did I say how TOUGH THE HYPER 8 IS?

Steve drove it like a JUNK YARD PITBULL THAT GOT A HOLD OF THE POST
MAN LEG AND WOULD NOT LET GO! LOL!

That thing is a tank like the old Hyper 7 was, but with more tuning
aids to home in for any track condition that was put in front of it.

I've seen Steve drive before and nothing against Steve, but wow the
HYPER 8 IN STEVE HANDS WAS UNREAL I TELL YOU.

I was 2nd thinking about getting the HYPER 8, but after this weekend
I’m very please that I did what I did and changed over to the HYPER 8.
Next weekend is going to be the first time I will put it on the track.
I can not wait.

I’m about to wet myself. Hahah

Thanks dibbs for the props..... ithink?
I didn't think I did too bad for taking a long break from 1/8th scale.
I guess 4th in the A main is alright though. The car felt really stable
and calm. I didn't have the feeling that I had to fight the car or
force it to do what i wanted. All I really had to do was point and
shoot. It hit the lines that I wanted it too, and was very smooth.

I am although not going to say like everyone else that this is the best
car in the world. The only way that i know to describe it is,
Tougher than the H7 in that it does not break shock shafts.
Steering is a lot better than the H7
Tunability is worlds beyond the H7
Definitely an outdoor car...
Easier to work on.

But guys.. a couple of pointers. Although I was told that everything
was already done...please go ahead and recheck all the screws and stuff.
Some screws were loose. Some did not have any threadlock in them.
Like the 4 screws that gold on your center diff plate with brakes.
Those were not thread locked Also the screws that hold on the top of
the servo saver to the front plate were not threadlocked. There are a
few more...but just be smart and go through the whole car.

Here you go dibbs

Honestly, I don't know. I don't really have an accurate way of weighing it.

I guess I could take it to work and put it on the US Mail scale thingy

I ordered mine from Tower. Power plant depends (obviously) like if you're planning on racing or not. I'm probably going to toss in a Sportwerks .26, but I don't plan on racing any time soon, otherwise I'd prolly go with a .21

Would this work http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXCSZ7&P=0 ? If so, I'll call tower and have them add that to my order. Thanks.

I got mine cheaper than that too, they must have just recently bumped up the price on Tower. Plus, mine only took 2 days to ship... (regular ground shipping).

Darn, I paid a little more since it was going to ship fast[>:] I plan on putting a V-spec in it to start, then an RB WS72 x3.

Thanks for the set-up!!! I'll keep you posted.

Awsome pics!!! Can you get the front and rear diff out without removing the shock tower. That really bugged me with the Jammin. PLease do a test since you need to change the fluids anyway.

Just ordered my H8 today from A main. The MBX5 Prospec is getting old. I wonder how the stock pipe will work with a P7R ? I have heard this is one of the best rough track handlers.

You do not have to take the shock tower off to get at the jammin diffs. It is only eight screws frt and back and the center is 4.

I'm not positive since I haven't taken them out yet, but just by looking, I would say yes. It looks like there are two screws that go directly from the tower into the diff cases, plus, in order to get the diff out, you would have to go up with it, and the tower is right above it.

I've tried and tried to get them out without taking the shock tower off but can't. The tower slides onto the gear box and I could never seperate the gear box without removing the shock tower. Maybe you can give me a hint!!! I still have a CRT.

I was talking about the buggy not the truggy. I am not sure how the crt comes apart but the cr you do not need to take off the shock tower.
