I actually own both ofna and redcat. In my opinion ofna is the better and more reliable buggy. I own a hurricane pro, and 2 ofna buggies, I have not driven the redcat for a long time if that tells you anything. I don't know if the ultra mbx comp. would be my first ofna choice, but you may have a reason for your choice. So in my opinion ofna.

I like the redcat. I have a hurricane and sold my two ofna's, Ultra Lx One and Ultra Lx GT to keep the hurricane. Everyone has their own opinions on stuff and am not bashing ofna buggies but I have enjoyed my redcat alot more. They have upgraded stuff on the hurricane recently and now have a better steering servo which is metal geared, 4mm thick front shock towers, SH.28 motor, and digital screen FM controller and hell I even had diff FLUID and not grease in my diffs when I went to change them out! They have come along way. I run the hell out of mine every weekend and it keeps on going.

You cannot compare a LX to a Jammin or a Hyper that is like comparing a 1975 1 to 1 car to a 2008 car. I assure you getting parts for an Ofna is easier as well as a MUCH better buggy. But it you get an Ofna at least get a Hyper 7.

I would agree. I have never owned a hyper 7 but from what I have read they are a good step above any ofna ultra lx buggy and hardly not much more money. If you wanted a ofna over a redcat then get the hyper 7.

IMO you can not compare a POS Redcat to any Ofna . You will be much happier with an Ofna buggy far as durability and parts availability . For the money I would get a Hyper 7 like mentioned before . It can handle bashing and be an excellent racer , unlike redcat .

Have you ever owned a redcat? NO, do not say it is a POS! I am not saying Ofna is a POS, just did not have a good experience with my ultra lx one and ultra Lx Gt. People have good experiences and with every brand. I am extremely happy with my 1/8th redcats. Now like I said if you are going to put of the extra money for hyper 7 than I think it is a better buggy.

I did hear they had alot of problems at first but they have changed alot of stuff now. For example they may have the same chassis and some parts as himoto and other brands but Redcat now uses different motors which are SH motors in all of them now and from what I have heard some different plastics and now has better metal geared servos. Shock towers in front are now 4mm, better shocks and since I got some of the newer redcats they now have the screws loctited, which they did not have before and caused alot of problems. Sorry about your bad luck. I had the same luck with my ofna buggies. Well, to each his own. Lets get on to something else more productive now! lol

The Redcats and the OFNA Ultras are peices of junk. I've owned both and I don't care if you are bashing or racing, you get exactly what you pay for. Just my .02 cents.

Ultras are and antiquated buggy that Jammin/Hong Nor probably wish Ofna would stop selling.
Hurricanes are rebranded ebay cheapy Bazookas with a upgraded engine.

Hyper 7 TQ all the way, stronger, better handling, raceable and upgradeable.

I never said I hate OFNA. I just don't like the Ultras. The Hypers are good and the Jammin buggies and truggies rock. I have the X1 CRT and race it as often as possible. The Redcats are a joke though. They are made with the cheapest materials possible and I could kick myself for buying two of them for my kids. Lesson learned I suppose.

I will go with OFNA, parts are available at every local hobby shops, on-line retailers or on-line auctions. There are no parts support for REDCAT here in my home town or neighbouring cities. I was supposed to get a RedCat or a Smartech or a Team VTX buggy before, but thought of not enjoying these buggies once a part breaks and have to frequently order on-line and longer waiting times.

Ofna will be the better choice. [8D]

Thats true. Some people do not mind waiting but some want there parts asap. I do not have a problem with redcat because on the main redcat dealers in the country is right down the road from my house so I always get the parts asap but that is not the case in alot of places.

Also ask why are they so cheap?
It's not because the better companies jack their prices right up for more money, they just use far superior material.

I have a redcat hurricane. They are great buggies, alot of people at my local track race the hurricane against top of the line buggies such as the losi 8ight and hyper 8 the hurricane certainitly holds it own against them, The hurricanes are also alot stronger than the top of the line buggies.
