I have seen several videos on this and I thought I might try fishing with a remote controlled boat at a local 15 acre lake.
I had thought of one that I could release the line from once it was in place and don't think that would be a problem.
Maybe even one that you could troll with and the line released when the fish hit, I think that might fly.
But one that the line is attached to and the boat actually bring the fish in might get you in trouble?
Anybody run into a problem in AZ doing this?

I will agree with that.
My question would involve having a pole attached to the boat and a release mechanism.
I looked at the AZ fish and game rules and I see nothing that would forbid any of the methods but I certainly would not want to get cited under some other rule that I don't know about.

Yes I have been trying to call them but I assume this time of the year with boat registrations due and fishing and hunting licenses too they are getting lots of questions.
It also appears that our fishing license fees took a pretty good jump. Oh well, still cheaper than other states and I do like to fish.

Hey there...I don't post here much but after being on hold 40 minutes or so I was able to speak to an agent. The bottom line is Arizona has "no" law against fishing with a remote control boat, it doesn't matter if you pull in fish with the boat or use the line release.
