Saw a radio somewhere that looked like a stick radio ,but had a steering wheel instead of a stick.Can't remember where I saw it . I did find a steering wheel,but don't know if it would work and it would have to be painted to look like wood.http://www.mackproductsrc.com/7128_steering_wheel.htm

Ace RC or somebody used to make one, it could be what's in that link. JR Propo I think had one also a long time ago that was on a pistol grip TX.

Made my own ship wheel equiped transmitter from a tourist trap shop near the beach. Had to mount plywood round disk to wheel and then change out retaining screw to hold wheel to radio. Looks good to me.

Now mount the base of the radio onto a piece of plywood or plastic and you could sit it on a stand and steer as if you were in a real boat.
