Received a mail this morning asking me what the difference between the Shred'A" and float'er Bro ******** boards are - besides the obvious... Having surfed both extensively I have to say the actual performance difference is very subtle - the Shed'A' has a touch more lean and perhaps a slightly more responsive turn - where as the float'er is a tad more stable and accelerates quicker...both equally great boards - really just comes down to personal preference - I surf the float'er as it is different and " I like different'

Things have 'slowed' quite somewhat on the forum over the past few months...... for a number of reasons....
There are two other ******** sights which are also active : http://www.rc*********.com/index.php ( US site)
& http://******************.freeforums...tralia-t8.html ( OZ site ) where you may find some of the 'locals' hanging out....other than that ....I guess folk are just caught up 'elsewhere'
Most all the old mass production board 'stuff' has run its coarse..been answered over and over..not to many folk seem to be 'rebuilding'......not to many boards available.
Most of the custom board manufacturers have found a groove and simply been producing and surfing - there really seems to have not been anything new to share / post....
Our video camera keeps breaking down ( apparently due to the salt air) so we have not been able to make any more recent video's. I was hoping to hit 150 by the year end !!!.... - hopefully they get it sorted soon - we have some good Summer surf rolling on the ATLANTIC !
I've been looking back and enjoying watching the many fun surf sessions I had this past Winter !...have to say I have had an awesome WINTER of rcSurfing.......simply MAGIC !

I have retired now due to ill health.
Gave all my rc gear to Luke yesterday.
Had a real blast and a lot of laughs but when sunset comes it is time to go home.
Thanks to all the crew.
MJ,
Best RC Surf pics I have ever seen. (Over at Kitty's place)
Cheers,

YPC, how much run time do you get and what size battery? Sorry if its been posted before. I've been lurking for a while. I have an old New Qida (I think its called) that eventually I'd like to update with real components including a BL motor. Just haven't been motivated to work on it since I moved away from the Great Lakes surf (Lake Michigan in the US). Thanks

Total Bummer to hear Jimi is taking a break from the rc surf breaks especially with his reason.
Get well soon Jim, so we can see some cool waves with you

HOWZIT JIMI......!!!
So sorry to hear that you have retired from rcSurfing. You ave been such a 'Great Character' within the rcSurfing community. I have always enjoyed your input and antics ( even though we have pissed each other off at times) - You have always been a solid 'ground swell' pushing magic waves for all to enjoy - Above all the rcSurfing footage and photos - your pictures certainly captured the real magic of rcsurfing !!!
JIMI FINDRIX - a true rcSurfing legend !

I run 3s and 4s / 5800 mAh packs - 2450 kv motor - 27 -30 mm props respectively.
Run times can be like a length of string - depends on a number of things - board design - motor choice - prop size - cooling efficiency - drive shaft resistance ...AND...surf conditions / riding style....
Mostly I run a 3s pack for around 15 minutes and a 4s pack for 20 minutes ......I find these run times quite suffice as I enjoy taking a break every so often.....usually I will run 3-4 packs per days session - 1 hr plus of rcSurfing - which is more than enough rcsurf time for myself.....
There is also good info on my Bro ******** forum which may help with your build - http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-b...boards-15.html
