Howzit BC...you sure have tried pretty much all of the production stuff that 'is out there'.....I'm kind of happy I skipped those steps..

I have no doubt that you BC Custom ******** will rip - You should be pretty close to hitting the surf by now !

I should finish this latest build by the weekend - ( gloss coat curing) the color pigment does bring a further dimension to it all - will be retiring my current Bro and building 'myself' a yellow one for-sure ! .........sooooon !

After a bit of reading I decided to try making my own board as I have a few old boards laying around and can get some foam from them !

Color for boards look cool. I did some research and found some helpful tips for coloring a board from Harbour Surfboards:
Here's the link: http://www.harboursurfboards.com/inf...n.asp#coloring

Howzit Rebelz.....that's the way to go !.......

The good thing is that the 'recycled' foam from your old surfboards is inexpensive - so if you are not happy with your initial shape /design its no big deal to redo it...

Some color is certainly good in a board - A plain white board would be more difficult to pick up in the surf at times - especially in the white water.. or spotting it in the midst of the breakers...

Look forward to 'sea-ing' your progress !

Hey reb

Nice link of info from 'harboursurfboards' regarding much about resinating!

Btw when i said i can't afford 'either of the two choices' doesn't mean they are expensive... if anything the cost probably only covers half the labour costs with the R+D hull shape and content placement thrown in as a freebie.

Way to go building your own....

Hi enthusiasts

Getting closer to gettin this board goin.... new electrics radio and waterproofing to go before some boat ramp testing (stuck some words and pics regarding where i'm at on the other site's)

Anyway... as you may know my rider atm is a mini flexy bro and he has been rather naughty living here with no surfing....
The outside of the board is basically finished so i bolted him down for some pics before i damage the board anymore or loose it when testing.

He was so excited he had a fern head explosion.... LOL

Yo- YPC nice surfboard ! What size motor does it take ???? ( 2 - 7year old arms ) No cooling tubes, ESC on full at all times ??

Cave- nice job Bra !!!!

Rebelz- Welcome to the forum !!! Go for it !!

Painting boards- I am building a 6' er for my teamrider on Oahu and was asked to do an airbrush on it. The discription was make it a tail comet, pink, Rocket red and purple, with some geometric design, make it wild!! Here is my rendition. For those on the subject of coloring it is acrilic latex paint on the foam, and will get clear glass over.

Try telling Jenesen - "Sunday is a day of rest".....I think he may just take this board to bed with himself to-night.

Dom- Jensons Tomo looks awesome! When he has finished with it can you chuck a BL motor and a couple of lipos in there?

How did you do your decals on the yellow resin'd board? A second clear 4oz lamination over the yellow resin?

Howzit Barrels !..LOL....it would be 'interesting'......BUT........his 4 year old sister has already put her name on it .......

It sure is a whole lot simpler building 'just' the surfboard !....I've come to realise 'even more so now ' just how much more detailed work goes into an ******** - even though it could be a 1/3 rd of the size - its at least 3 times as much 'more work'

From this exercise - We have come up with another concept "recycled boards" - I have two dads now who want me to strip down their 'old boards' to shape similar boards for their kids - a cool initiative - saving money and the planet ...

You are spot on with the decals - a clear 4 oz layer over... How is the build going ?
