The Aqua Jet is lighter & has a bigger motor, also it has a better more efficient direct driveshaft system, plus it's less complicated. The Nitro Vee has a nice feature of electric start & return to shore system, but the electric motor & I believe a (it's a 6 cell) Batt. weigh it down, plus after awhile I hear this system breaks down.

I just ordered an electric Aqua Jet and will have a report soon. I think it will be better than the Nitro Vee.

I recently got the 12cell Aqua Jet, it's great but, the original prop is crap (it's too soft) I am using a cheap Kyosho red 42mm prop, it's faster now, a graupner K42 CF works even better.

got my aqua jet. its a great little toy boat. pretty fast with the cen .16. the only problem ive had is the motormounts keep pulling though. it really starting to bother me. tring to come up with a mod for that problem. if antone has any suggestions, let me know.

I've gotta go with the Aqua Jet too. The engines vibrate a lot when new but once they're broken in, they settle down and start usually on the first or second pull. I put a starting belt on it and have yet to need it. The stock prop is terrible. Replace it ASAP for instantly more speed.
I have a review on the Grey Thunder in the Beginners section in www.radiocontrolzone.com under Boats and titled "Boat Review Coming". You might find some great tips in there that can be used on an Aqua Jet from myself and others.
