Central California Coast Model Boats
Shaun H and I had a very successful chat over lunch earlier today to discuss the possibility of setting up a Model Boat group in the form of a 'club' covering the Central Coast area of California.
As far as we are aware, there are no model boat groups between San Francisco and the Hansen Dam Irregulars in Northern LA.
We decided that our first objective would be to gauge how many boat modellers there are in the Central Coast area and if they would be interested in forming a model group.
Our aim would be (as a group) to secure some water's from one of the local City's that we would be able to run Sail, Electric and possibly gas / nitro on.. as well as welcome builders of static model boats. There was also discussion regarding a 'Monthy' formal meeting where we could discuss building / running of boats and share our knowlege between the different disciplines.
These meetings could possibly take place at a local school (with a pool ) where we could also get the kids involved in the building of model boats.
If there are boaters out there that are interested in such a group and live within the Central Coast area, please PM either Shaun or myself.
