Where to buy a ramp...
Hey guys, just wondering what portable ramps you guys use and where you got them at? Id like to buy a cheap portable ramp that would be easy to set up and use anywhere. Plastic preferrably. There are some on Ebay, but the ones i saw were mostly around 10" wide from what i saw, and the wider ones were around $40 or so. It'd be nice to find something about 15" wide so that my larger MT's could use it, but im looking for something pretty cheap too. So... Any suggestions guys? Thanks

Ramps.........pretty easy to make even easier to buy. Problem is, the faster you intend to hit your ramp, the wider you will want it. Even a 4 foot wide sheet of plywood can be tricky to hit unless your run up area is perfectly smoothe. The surface of the ramp is very important also as you will need to be able to get traction on the ramp so you can blip the throttle enough to keep the front end of your r/c at the correct attitude. Last time I was jumping my T-3 I was hitting the ramp @ over 50 mph to achieve long flights, it was important the ramp was wide and the transition was smoothe. Good luck and most importantly, have fun.

Thanks guys[8D]
I thought about building one, but the problem is going to be keeping it light if i do it like that. The plastic ramps are light and easy to handle and carry around, which is a nice thing. Probably the worst part is that id spend about as much building one as buying one. lol

All of the bike ramps that I've seen have too much kick up. Rather than getting long airtime, what you get is back flips. Build it yourself is theway to go.

Duratrax makes ramps you can get from Tower Hobbies.

ramps are pretty easy to build yourself as well. I made a few last year from plywood.

Works great and it's much wider than those plastic ones made for bikes.
Just get some plywood and nail a board on one end. Couldn't be simpler.
