Think it's possible to make a t-maxx 2.5 as fast as a jato
I owned both and the jato 3.3 on short grass was incredible as you know.T-maxx obviosly can't touch it.Think with the right gearing and engine the maxx 2.5 could almost keep up?

even if the maxx had the 3.3 I dont see how it could match the jato. even with the same motor, the weight difference is to great.

If you put the 2.5 in the jato and the 3.3 in the tmaxx...that would make their top speeds alittle closer.
But you cant simply gear up the tmaxx. Sure, a couple of teeth maybe...increasing the top speed by a couple of MPH. But you cant gear up and gain more than that. And gearing up will sacrafice acceleration as well.

Littlemel yes and no about the Corvette,a lot of people assume because it's a "Corvette" it's super powerful and fast. There were only a few heart stoppers produced, the rest are just a fancy car. You're basically right in a way.

Yes, but not with drop-in parts.
If you're able to custom fab brackets, modify gears, etc, then you can make most things possible. I have a 74 MPH RC10GT, but it's FAR from stock. OFNA Force .32 Engine w/14T bell, 48T Losi hardened steel spur, 2.8" TRX wheels front & Rear-and that's just the beginning. When you crank it up like this, stuff breaks. So far, the RRP tranny gears and GP M alloy tranny housing are taking it. MIP CVDs lasted about 3 minutes on pavement, though.
So yeah, geared to the moon and with something like an LRP ZR32 spec 2 engine, your T-Maxx could beat your Jato. But it'll be a real project, not just something you buy parts for and assemble.

Im sure there is some way...some engine...that could make the maxx as fast as the stock jato on pavement...but you would ruin the purpose of the monster truck by taking away the offroad ability.
And just when you have had the maxx match the jato...a few simple mods could make the jato faster.

I think it is possible to get a Tmaxx as fast as a Jato, but I too think it would require some custom work to the chassis and suspension. Weight is the enemy, it would be competing against a what... 2 pound car? You would need a fast revving engine too. Lots of nitro. Better get the cash machine or credit card warmed up... LoL.

There are plenty of 10 second and faster street trucks out there, including diesel 4x4s. If you wanna see some absolutely wicked street cars/trucks, check out Nelson racing on youtube. Many, many 6-8 second, 1,200-2,000 HP gasoline powered street machines. Not cheap, of course.
