Default Please Help!

My husband wants to start a rc car hobby but he is having me do the research while he's at work. I have no idea. He wants to purchase a tmaxx 3.3 truck from amazon. $479.00
I am trying to figure out what I need to buy with it.
What type of fuel. He also wants a small tool set.
I want it to be completely ready for him when he gets home.

Also he wants to buy our son a good truck/ for around $250
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, no worries. I've got what ya need!
This should be a good starter toolkit; http://www.amain.com/Losi-17-IN-1-To...6CQaArcr8P8HAQ

Fuel, anything goes. I like Byron Gen2, personally, as it has an after-run oil blend in it already. http://www.amain.com/Byron-Originals...5BUaAhyz8P8HAQ

For the son's truck, can't go wrong with ECX.
Truck; http://www.amain.com/ECX-RC-Ruckus-1...9aIaArlD8P8HAQ

Charger; http://www.amain.com/EcoPower-Electr...5A-50W/p217519

LiPO (if he would like to go that route); http://www.atomikrc.com/collections/...ase-w-uni-plug

ALSO, the Tmaxx needs to be broken in. Here is a good guide on that; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_dmf1b7Jow

A tool kit comes with the Traxxas T-Maxx 3.3. The fuel you will need is glow fuel. Most all hobby shops that carry Traxxas trucks also carry Traxxas fuel. Get the 15 % nitro. The only other tools you will need is four hex drivers, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 and 2.5 mm. These tool sets usually cost $19.99 at most hobby shops. I would order your truck from a reputable company like Tower Hobbies A-Main Hobbies, or your local hobby shop.

Break the truck in as indicated by the included DVD that is supplied free with the truck.

Yes, RC cars come with a "toolkit", but the majority of them are really low quality. When I changed from using hex keys (6 months ago), it was one of the best decisions I had ever made.

I hope you didn't revert back to the phillips head screws. Sockets head screws and hex drivers don't strip out as fast as phillips head screws. And the tool kit that comes with Traxxas is pretty good quality. Compared to Red Cat cars, and Fireland, Traxxas is the Cadillac. Traxxas has great customer service and parts are cheap and easy to get.

No, I changed from hex keys, to using hex drivers. Best money ever spent.

personally I always saw Traxxas more like a Geo Metro
will get the job done, but probably will break along the way.

Well I bought them both Traxxas. I hope it was a good buy. I purchased the t Maxx 3.3 and the stampede. I couldn't find 15% fuel so I got 10% and 20%. I made my purchase at Tower Hobbies. I'm going to let him get the tool kit. I hope they like them!
