RE: What is the most common racing class?
That depends a great deal on your local track, of course. Here we race on the parking lot in front of the LHS and since it's pavement the TC classes (especially stock 27 turn) are the biggest entry getters followed by Pan Cars. Not that many nitro guys here - they run them in with the TC mods when there aren't enough for a class of their own (about every other week).
They still run an open off road class (they put ramps on the asphalt and run everyone from electric buggies to nitro moster trucks together). The vehicles that seem to do best under those conditions seem to be the electric buggies (the low center of gravity really helps on the pavement).

It really depends on the track, as mentioned before. I go to two tracks mainly and 1/10 gas truck seems to be popular in both. MT is catching on at one of the tracks, but not so much the other. As for 1/8 buggy and truggy, one track doesn't allow it, but it's pretty popular at the other one.
