took my nitro rc out for a run,

was running fine say about 60m away
there seemed to be sum kind of interuption.

my first thought was the batteries bun swapped them for fresh batteries and there was no change.

when the motor isnt running the car respond fine to the trasnmitter but when i fire the car up and switch the transmitter on the car goes aywolll

but if i was to switch off the transmittor the cars fine

does anyone have any suggestions on what the problem may be :S

chase around on the chassis.. you have some sort of metal on metal contact.. vibration it causes RF ive had it happen find it.. eliminate it and all should be well

Make sure all metal to metal joints are snug like turbotb0205, and I'd also seriously consider replacing that radio with a higher quality FM or spread spectrum unit.

i shall have a look for any rubbing vibration causing interuption

when i statrt the car up and the engines going there seems to be no interuption among the streering servo untill i open the throttle thats when everything seems to get out of hand????

Lets see if I'm understanding correctly. Steering is controllable until you use throttle? Then it goes weird?
Does it still act weird when you go from throttle to no throttle?
Do you have the antenna fully extended?
Do you have another channel you could try using?

The other day I put a new esc and motor in my Slash. The receiver is 4ch, but the transmitter is 2ch. When I had first plugged things in I was getting cross communication. When I steered left the wheels turned AND the throttle went. When I turned right it would turn and brake (I had reverse disabled or it would of reversed). Is it doing anything like that? Have you messed with the plugs going into the receiver?

yeah steering is controllable untill i use the throttle

and when i let the throttle off sometimes it stays fine but sometimes it just goes all wierd

the thing is i dont understand the car is fine untill i start the motor and use the throttle ??

just something very woerd about it and i dnt know what going on :S

i did take the plug out that goes to steering servo and everything fine but when i plug it back in it goes all wierd again

Check the wires from both servos to make sure there isn`t a bare spot and touching the chassis or any metal .

surely if there was a bare spot on the wire rubbing, it would interupt wether the motor is running or not :S

When the engine is running there is vibration . A bare wire might not be touching until there is vibration when the engine started . I have been in this hobby for a long time and seen all kinds of weird things with wires you would think wouldn`t happen .

okai fair enough

there is a nip in the wire where it got jammed in the radio box when it had been closed before hand but it not rubbing anything i shall look further into this later

I had this problem after having my first nitro car for a few days and after months of trying to solve it, it turns out the vibration from the engine was making the receiver move the servos incorrectly. Thats why when the engine is off the radio works fine. I eventually replaced the receiver and everything worked perfectly after that.

Try a different/new set of frequency crystals, those things have a shelf life and if they're going bad vibrations might be causing what you're describing.
