I never go my manuals anyway. Here is an article on how to stop a nitro rc engine, [link]http://www.myrcbox.com/how_to_stop_nitro_engine.htm[/link]. All it could possibly do is flood the engine. But I hit the flywheel if the engine is revving out of control. I only pinch the fuel pine when tuning the LSN. I just plug the exhaust when done running for the day, then vaccun all the fuel into my fuel bottle. Then just run the engine on full brake not giving it any gas until it stops. Then the tank is completely empty.

I generally plug the exhaust, just be careful not to burn yourself. Pinching the fuel line always leans it out, and while that little amount of lean running isn't a huge deal you might as well avoid it. I prefer not to hit the flywheel because you might damage and therefore unbalance it.

i generally block the exhaust as its the easiest but you can also pinch the air filter hose if its flexible enough.

Yea if you get it airtight then it dies pretty quickly, it essentially does the same thing as blocking the exhaust.

+1 for plugging the exhaust. As for flooding? Those are very easy to clear, moreover, I have yet to actually flood any of my engines from plugging the exhaust.
On my Savage, the air filter has a long rubber coupler from the actual air filter to the carb throat. I pinch that coupler to starv off air to the engine. No worry about running lean or backing up the engine from plugging the stinger.
On Traxxas RCs, the big flat surface of the TRX air filters makes it very easy to put your palm on the filter surface to also cut off air supply to shut down the TRX engines.

Flywheel. It's not like we're trying to stop a chainsaw here.

Ive tried them all, by far the most convenient is plugging the exhaust. But if you also have a rag near by you could stop the flywheel generally pretty quickly. Im not crazy about pinching the fuel line, because of the fact that is just like leaning the engine.

With the brakes. But if you mean to kill the engine, as long as it is at idles speed you can just touch your finger to the flywheel and that will stop the engine and it won't hurt your finger.

You don't let the thing spin on your finger. Nitro motors have zero torque at low RPM. I just jam my finger on it and it stops instantly.. even if I do have it revving a bit. Jam may be a strong word; it doesn't take much effort at all. You just need to be authoritative; don't chicken out and barely do it. All the guys at my track use their finger. Racers have done it this way for years. I've never ever had a "bur" get on my flywheel, but even if it did, it's not going to hurt you.
If I'm bashing and don't feel like taking off the body (or can't access the flywheel from below the truck), I just plug the exhaust.
