Question on painting......

The manual says to use Tamiya plastic paints... I want to paint the WW a single color and go into good detail on the figure. Now can I just go to Home Depot and buy some paints? Or do I need some plastic paints and have to run to the LHS and spend a bunch of money on Tamiya paints?

I prefer modelling paints, a hardware store rattle can does great! IF you know what you are doing.

I'd suggest an oil paint for spray, or the Tamiya acrylic.

For airbrush, I'd suggest a acrylic paint.

Be warned, as some paints may be a bad batch, and test the paint before you use it.

Remember to do light coats on one color, mostly on a gloss paint.

Auto, I have Tamiya paint bottles left over for the figure, you can borrow them and give back what you didn't use up. As for the body itself you can use pretty much anything hobby grade in a spray.

Like LB said, don't learn a lesson the hard way and use HD paints.

Ok, but mine will prolly dry out before I use them again so it's up to you.

Don't know why the above pic isn't showing, anyway here are some of the pics of my build

Packing some heat...

Full frontal shot

Some outdoor wheelies

No wheels touching the ground!

All in all a great first time build experience for me. The runtime is amazing got bored before my cheapo 1500 battery ran out (was running low) When I switch to deans and use a better 4600 battery I can't imagine the runtimes I will be getting!
