Hey Guys!!! Just letting everyone know about my wild willy modd's. Well I relocated the lead weights that i was using to keep wild w grounded, instead of leaving the lead weights under the hood of the jeep i have now placed them in the front of the chassie on the inside where the servo mounts. So know i have a lower center gravity, than what i had when the weights were under the hood.WW crawles very well now, it only wheelies when i want it to and even then it has to have very good traction to do so.I can actually drive it at race speeds. I also have my diff locked for trailing and crawling. Im using the hpi 2.2 wheels and the geolander tires for a more scale look.Im in florida so if you want to go off road it is very important to lock the diff due to the sand factor here. This jeep is awsome!!!!!!!!!! The lead weights have adhesive so the stick to the interior chassie well.

Someone just gave me one of the original Wild Willy jeeps. However, the front bumper mount(?) is shattered, can anyone tell me if parts are out there? And although there is a steering tiller in the radio compartment, there is no obvious way to attach a servo. I'm not a car guy, only airplanes, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
DC

That's awesome, lucky!! I would love a WW-1 runner! (Need to go work on it, ha!)

The parts are no longer being made, the only way is to search the eBay.. unfortunately..

Can you post a close-up or a better quality picture to show the damage?! Maybe that can be fixed?

Servo is attached via double-sided tape!

It's a little hard to see, but the left, top (as you are looking at it) phillips head screw boss is cracked away from the rest of the palstic casting and the left bumper spring is not attached to anything...a chunk of the same plastic casting is missing. No glue that I've experimented with will actually mend the damage, it will stick it back together but there is no way it will endure the abuses of driving.

I did locate the part in England, but the price was outrageous, sort of underestimated the popularity of this piece.

Guess I wasn't clear on the steering thing. How do you connect the servo to the tiller?

You can use any servo horn and it needs a little screw (maybe w/ a sleeve around it) that will fit into the slot...

Looks like the damage is pretty bad, probably should get that part from eBay then... or get another roller as a parts car!

I think I see what you mean about the screw with a sleeve in the slot for steering. I was trying to make it too complicated.

Thanks for your help.

Hey guys, decision time: Should we keep WW-1 and WW-2 discussion in the same thread? Or start a new WW-1 thread to keep all the WW-1 stuff there?!
