What servo should I consider for my SC10 2WD?

For trucks, I'd use a high-torque, metal gear servo. If I have the money, I'd get a high-speed and high-torque metal gear one, although that narrows down to only one company that I can think of

Spektrum 6040 and Savox 1258TG have both served ThunderbirdJunkie well.

I use a Hitec 5645MG servo in several of my 2wd electrics and they've served me well

I agree with Steve, for a 2wd truck, there is no need to go overboard on torque. The 5645 should be more than adequate and is quite economical.

Yeah the 5645 would be my choice as well.

Since trucks have larger tires and weigh more than their smaller counterparts, I would personally would get a high-torque servo any day

That Hitech servo is a high-torque one . . .

Er...not sure what you think that last post adds to the discussion. A 2wd short course truck isn't exactly known for high weight or big tires. Compared to a mini-z maybe. If this was for a 1/8th monter truck, the thread would have gone quite differently.

Besides, there's a huge difference between a high torque budget servo (5645) and a high torque racing servo (BLS252 or ACE DS1015), not to mention the price. As you correctly stated, the 5645 is a high torque servo, but not overkill. What was your point again? [&:]

I simply stated that I would opt for a high-torque servo for any truck. I sincerely hope that you don't think I'm making a big deal out of this, and I have no point to make. I just said that I'd use that type of servo for any truck.

No, it's cool, I just wondered if you wanted to add something and maybe I hadn't understood.

Oh - I see, Traxxas_Man_KY never stated if he was racing the thing or not. So, that's what I said what I said. There's a lot more rotating mass in a truck tire (beadlocks or not), vs a skiny buggy tire/ wheel, or a small TC tire and wheel so that's what I'd want to use a high torque one.

That's all It's all good!
