They will all fit. You must choose the look you like. The T-Bone Basher & Racer bumper follows the same lines as the stock 30° caster/bumper/bulkhead.

The Thrasher has more of a kick up.

you actually might notice the difference when you do speed runs. if you were to do a full on drag/speed conversion, it would be one of the moderate performance affecting parts. as is, it'd get you to speed a little sooner. maybe eek out an extra .5-1.5 mph. in theory, it might act as a fan blowing on the motor mounting plate (albeit pretty inefficient with the spur covering what would equate to the intake side). food for thought.

The weather here is finally warming up enough for me to think about getting the airbrush thing going. I have four bodies looking for paint (one for the Evader); they're just sitting around since last season. Thanks for some inspiration with the link posted ^ there DHarder.

I've been meaning to change up the Duratrax ST look for a while now. The last of my paint colors just showed up about a week ago.

The latest shipment of parts has arrived... I'll working on it this weekend. I'm also going over the tuning of the car as described in the manual.

Had a few questions come up while tuning:

1. I need some insight on steering adjustment... The ST Manual and ST Pro Manual differ (at least to me they differ) and I think my setup is more like the Pro. How do most of you have yours setup? What do you recommend? See attached Pics for the two setups per the manual.

2. Mounting the bottoms of the rear shocks, how they mounted? It seems that the shock interfere with the camber link.

I think most of us have the Ackerman set for "smooth" or whatever came from the factory. The steering linkage is kinda goofy, so I never messed with it.

The camber links shouldn't interfere with the rear shocks. Sure you got the arms on correctly? You don't have some ball studs on the wrong side of the shock tower, do ya?

My shocks skim the rear cambers. I wouldn't call it "interfering", but they do contact. It's just the springs. Post up some pics.

My steering rack is set for aggressive. I've never changed any of that up, but I have the original ST and that's how it came.

soad100100, your first picture is of the ST manual and the second is of the ST Pro model. Two completely different servo saver/steering set-ups. The steering/servo saver arms that came with the Pro are the High Rate Steering type (DTXC8894). All the other Evader models come with the normal/stock servo saver arms (DTXC8892). The ST Pro placement of the drag link is opposite than the rest of the Evader models and comes set-up, from factory, with the smooth feel.

Ok... I got it all hook up and mostly working... One issue to knock out...


Issue #1

All my controls are reversed on the Radio...I.E. I pull the trigger and it goes backwards.. (I can fix it by Rev the channels, but I wanna know why the stock settings arent workin?)

All ESCs/servos are setup different so that's why they offer the channel reversing setting. Reverse the necessary channels so it all works properly and you're good to go. It's like that with everybody's radios. Totally normal.

soad100100, since you have them toe-in blocks, keep an eye on the screws that secure the blocks to that chassis plate. For some reason, my one rear screw that secures the toe-in block would work it's way loose. My guess is the aluminum chassis plate, on the ST Pro, sends vibrations the the toe-in blocks easier than the other Evaders that use a plastic chassis plate. Every 3~6 runs I needed to tighten, ever so slightly, the one screw. Eventually, I fixed the loosening screw problem by using a longer screw and a lock-nut (see pictures).

Rusty, The aluminum rear chassis plate didn't fit the new brushless tranny set up. The holes didn't line up; I went with the brushless rear chassis plate.

had my first day out today and it was fantastic, no crashes and some real speed.. Don't know exactly how fast, but I'd say around 35 - 40 mph..

here's some pics of my beast... Feel fee to comment and make recommendations.. (Still waiting on the front bumper)

I was gonna say...you need a gear cover and a motor guard. Sweet ride! I like your green motif. I hope you don't break those ex$pen$ive Graphite bits. Pretty brittle, especially if you're in a cold climate. Oh, wait...are you the guy in Okinawa? What Novak motor is that? It must FLY.
Um, your rear wheels are on backwards. Tread is going the wrong way. Swap 'em side to side.

Thanks for the heads up on the wheels..... I'm in SoCal; its pretty warm here.... Either way, as I break things... I'm just replacing with standard plastic. Not worth it to go graphite...at least not for me.


I have a Novak havok ss 10.5 system; I think its going about 40-45 mph... but I'm not sure... Is there a way to clock the speed easily?

Also, Should I be applying any grease to the spur gear? Right now, its dry.

One more question:

Will the, Duratrax Battery Strap & ESC Mount (EXT2 or Brushless) Fit my ST.. I'd like to place the ESC in the middle of the car and it looks like this Strap does that..

Any thoughts?

Looks pretty good! That aluminum bulkhead is da bomb! :P lol

No need to grease the spur/pinion mesh, it'll just make a mess of your gear cover and you don't need it. The plastic on metal design with no grease is just how it's done.

For speed, you can purchase a radar gun (expensive), strap your gps from the car to it (or phone), or you can buy one of these:

They just came out and look awesome. Little pricey though.

The EXT2/Brushless battery strap will not work with the ST chassis. It's too wide. You can mod the chassis to except it with a dremel, but I think you should keep your existing strap (or get an aluminum one), and mount your ESC vertical on the rear shock tower. That's how mine is.

actually, chevron-esque treads are bidirectional. having them reversed like in the pictures makes them grip better on loose, dry surfaces like gravel and sand. can also increase traction on wet surfaces but you run the possibility of the treads clogging.

There is plastic plate screwed on near the rear shock tower to hold an ESC. That plate has a wider 'receiving slot' molded in where the strap goes. Soad100100 doesn't have that plate, which leaves the original 'receiving slot' molded in the back of the chassis that is not wide. However, the extra plate does come with the EXT2/BL battery strap as you pointed out...

Little Problem... Big Head ache..

Took the evader out this weekend for a little fun.... right off the bat something wasn't feeling right. I was on a freshly charged battery and the car wasn't going as fast as it normally did.. Also, it was making a squealing noise... It was going about 20 -25 compared to the normal 40-45.. I brought it in to take a look at it. From a brief look over everything looked great. I decided to take the tranny apart and put it back together...

Ran into a issue right away: One of the two screws that mount the motor to the plate is stripped.... I cant get the screw out for the life of me... Any ideas??

Please Help!?!?!
