4000 kv is pretty good for offroad because you can gear it close to stock a 17.5t system you would have to gear it up a lot to get the best speed to torque ratio

there you go and yeahh the lower plates are a bit different, so worst case senario on top of a new tranny you need a $3.5o part that will bolt right in...
tho they should work just fine...

No it was really easy, the only problems is that you have to solder on all your connectors, so if you've never done that it will slow you down, but even that took me only half and hour. My setup needs some fine-tuning, it's all in the tx. Having a good tx makes a big difference with brushless setups at least with this one.
I'll get some pics up Jack, just haven't had time, maybe over the next few days.
The reason I bought the 8.5 was that I did alot of research online, alot people said they wish they would have gone with the 8.5. Also checkout hobbypartz.com website there is reviews. Also most people said my evader would
Run the best with this setup. It comes down tompreference an what you are going to do with the car. I just want something fast to drive through the field by my house.

Any suggestions lug?
I'm gonna try an 18t pinion or a 16t, but inwanna try getting the spur and pinion as close as what will fit under my case.

if you're running a stock spur, and stock sized tires 18/88 should be a good starting place if not a bit concervative.... if you want to minimize how far your motor is away just find the drive ratio pinion to spur,so for an 18/88 do the math 18/88=.2045 aprox so you can just get like the next smallest spur size and match a pinion to that # by mulitplying that # by the spur size so thats an 86t so 86*.2045=is about a 17.6t pinion so you 'll have to go down to the 81 spur which is about a 16.5t pinion but a 17t would be fine, now i don't know if they will fit because the gears are too small or not... thats your only headache with this...

I definitely need a dremel. It is probably the only tool i dont have. And where do you get the hexes for pinion gears because mine broke and my pinion keeps falling off.

a hardware store should have um depending on who makes your pinion it may be metric or sae threaded you'll have to test both

the RR's are SAE it's a 1.16th inch hex so that should help find it other than that bring the pinion with and start trying screws...
