i run 2x true rc 6400mah(2s), and i like them alot but they are slightly longer than a normal pack. doesnt effect the revo becuase it just uses velcro straps, but the rustler needed some cutting.

I sent them an email and they will build them in a 3s if you want. they said $120 for 1 or $230 for 2, and the 2s packs that I have are $80.

my truck has about 1.62hp(continuos), but has huge torque numbers becuase of the low wind, but all I know for sure is with the 10xl it is a close race with my sts 30.(the electric will win, mainly becuase it has the extended chassis) with the 8xl its no competition. I think 2hp for 13-14lbs would be pretty good(with the 8xl I have about 1.9hp).

but with the MMM on 5s(it would be $200 for the true rc 6400) you would make about 2.5hp, and over 5hp peak.

just doesnt make sense to me. for $6 more you get 2400mah more, and more amps(not just by claims, becuase maxamps overates, and true rc underates)and I doubt the weight is going to make much of a difference

It just makes more sense to get the 6400s, because they have better runtime(like alot more), and more power for only $6 more

Im sure they will.

for the price he quoted me on the 3s, he didnt charge anymore than what it cost to buy the cells. His name is dan and he has great customer service. I had problems with my balancer for a while, and he pulled me through it.( I usually pm him on rcgroups)

you guys that are converting 1/8 scale buggies over to brushless, what pitch pinions are you using to mesh with the stock spur gear?

Update...

Just installed the custom battery tray today and it has a little second level were Im going to place the MMM ESC. I also am planning to see if I can take the one way bearing out of my warhead tranny so that I wont have to flip a switch to go into reverse. Pic will follow.

cheap brushed version of the ultra lx series. It goes decently fast with 2 titans and the e-savage esc.

go brushless man. it cost about 200, 105 for a MM at bpp(you got to tell them you found it for 112 somewhere else) then 75 for a feigao xl motor and then 25 for an rcm heatsink.

thats a pretty cool little buggy....

Anyone use a Novak HV brushless system? Seems like it would be a cheap way to get into conversions for 1/8th scale with a 450a draw...

no its not the greatest system. a feigao xl9 with a MM is a much better choice and is also cheaper

I like your setup bombers 410. the titans may not be stellar in an emaxx, but on a buggy that weight 4-5 pounds less you should be able to get some nice speed out of it. I run my titans on 16 cells geared down a couple teeth on my emaxx and they are pretty strong motors. The brushless stuff is nice but unless you are running top quality batts you are just going to let the smoke out. You've got no cogging with that setup and the way youve got it right now it probably all stays pretty cool. Now throw some lipos on that puppy, gear it up a little more and youve got yourself a fast light setup. You may not be setting speed records vs the brushless version but your drivetrain will last a lot longer. Dont get me wrong I like the brushless stuff, but until there is bit better support and more options this is a good way to go.

IMO the HV-Maxx system is overpriced for what you get. Wait until the new Castle Creations Mamba monster Max system comes out. Theres a whole thread about it- http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_65...tm.htm#6516368

Im going to convert my revo to brushless with the money im getting from x-mas.
Only thing is im a little confused on the motor/esc selections.
Ive heard the feigao motors are good for the money.
Im going to be using the gorilla maxx chassis. Does anyone know if the new e-maxx tranny will fit in the gorilla chassis?
Also is the larger brushless motor going to fit in the transmission or am i going to have to rig something?
I am going to use lipo batteries and im wondering how many cells these things can handle.

Thats all my questions for now. I'm not on a budget so if theres a killer combo thats a few extra $$$$ let me know.
In the mean time im going to read through the forst 16 pages to see what everyone else is running.

Merry Christmas
