Default What is the best electric truggy for the Money

Hi, I am new to electric trucks and want to add a truggy to my collection. What do you guys think the best truggy for the money is. I run a small track with a lot of turns and small jumps. I am looking for 1/10 scale.

I think the only 1/10 electric truggies are the HSP/redcat/exceed truggies. I bought one of their MT's and they seem great. Just get a better radio.

I too thought those were pretty decent, but yeah the radios that redcat gives out are a joke.

There is about a 1/3 of a second from the point you turn a servo or press the throttle, to the point where the servo reacts.

The steering wheel fell off in my hand half way through break in :P

I mean, I understand Redcat is trying to keep their prices down, but do they have to pick THE cheapest ebay-grade radio there is?

best for the money is hard to say. i chose a hot bodies lightning stadium 10 and converted it from gas to brushless. its what i feel was the best 10th electric for the money. i got less than $400 in it, and it has killer speed and acceleration. its gear for about 40mph and will do a complete flip back onto its wheels from a stand still. wheelies are something thats done only at very high speeds with this truck. here's a build photo.

now on the other hand, i bought my dad an exceed truck for xmas. for $100 and $20 radioshack battery, i think its absolutly great. i'm thinking about getting another for my daughter, and maybe myself so i'm not so much faster than everyone else.

you see we really need a budget and then offer the best for x amount.
