Can you send me a link to this esc and motor, i am looking into upgrading from my stock setup.
Thanks

Yeah here: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXTRX9&P=7

That's the brushless system I chose. It was worth it. This truck runs great with it.
I was racing with it this past weekend and I can keep up with the mamba powered trucks also.
Speed isnt the key at my local track, the slower you go the better you'll do in some cases.
This system is just as smooth and efficient as my Novak GTB and tekin systems.
Sensored has that more controlled feel for racing compared to sensorless.

So i got back from vacation and i have the sidewinder esc but not the motor or the usb link yet. I can't wait. It seems like faster than stock speeds will break this truck but i guess we will see. For now I am still really happy with the speed and duralibilty of this truck. Took it out on the beach last week and that might be the last time I do that... just way to much cleaning for my liking. I guess my next thing will be tires and new gearing can't wait.

I just got my eF today, what a nice piece of equipment. I just think bak to the Kyosho Big Brute that my bro had back in the 90's and shudder...

I swapped the springs front to rear, but the springs seem too short for the rear. I screwed down the adjuster about 2/3rds down till the spring finally compressed. Is that right or were the springs on right in the first place?

Thanks.

The rear springs need to be stiffer than the front, switch them back...

should i get a novak spread gtb or a mamba max esc the gtb can handle 6cells and 2s and the mamba can handleway more than the gtb. if a mamba and a gtb had 5.5r novak motor in two e-firestorms running on 3300 6cells, and stock gearing. would they be almost the same in speed and power

Me and my pal just ordered up two Firestorms today, we're going brushless, I already have my 5700 sidewinder. Before the Firestorm arrives, I had a question about the RS4-MT CVD's, should I use rear or front CVD's to drop into the Firestorm?

Yay! an E-Firestorm thread that is quite active.
Ive gotten an E-Firestorm, all stock apart from Mamba Max 5700kv. Been very happy with this truck.
Had it since March and only problem I've had is losing a body clip (Knock on wood).
I take it to the off road dirt track quite often and very happy with it.
I dont clean it though, is this bad for it?
Also never checked the diffs or anything and it seems to be holding up very well.
Might get some Proline Bowties next. Awesome ST.

I used my fronts, but I switched out axles and used the rear axels. Works great.
Anything with universals is better. so I didnt even use the e-firestorm dogbones at all.

So the front axles won't work in the rear? Do they not have a pin? I just don't want to buy two sets of CVD's if I don't have to. (front bones with rear axles).

Sounds like you're having fun with your Firestorm. The Mamba is a great system, wise choice there. Dirt isn't too big of an issue. I like to keep my truck clean because it's nicer to work on that way, and it looks new for longer. The dirt as far as I can see wouldn't hurt it. A little dirt on the a-arms, body, and tires isn't really a big concern in my eyes. Dirt in places that would effect the truck, might be. Such as the bearings, and that's all I can really think of. Just keep dirt away from the parts that are under a lot of motion that could slow it down and work it's way into bearings or other important areas. Just use your common sense, that's all. I really wouldn't worry about it, as long as it doesn't bug you.

No the RS4mt front axels wont work, but the rears do.
I switched mine out because I noticed the front Cvds had wear on them.

Thanks Always Dreamin, I'm having lots of fun with this truck.

Hey I just cheked the E-Firestorm Flux details on the HPI website. It can use 3S Lipo.
Oh well I'm still glad I got my storm with the Mamba Max as it comes with the USB Link and also I would have still been waiting for the Flux since March.

Here's the link for the Flux profile

I'm sure some of you have read my thread about me getting an LRP v7.1 esc, and Team Orion 12t Double Formula SV2 Pro motor for my E-Firestorm. But anyways, I was wanting speeds in the upper 30's, like anything from 38 up to like 40. What size pinion gear do you think I should run with the stock spur gear to get those speeds?

nope, it can't run 3s lipo, just 3s..
think I will have to get the stock version, and a mamba max 5700 system, because I want to run 3s

Just wanted to pitch in... was fooling around with my mate the other day that has a Wheelie King, so we swapped tires for a bit. I would actually love to see bigger tires on my e-Firestorm than stock but not that big as on the picture, somewhere in between as I had much more ground clearance. Would be fun to have a set to fool around with, anyways... picture.

Now I´m waiting on upgrade parts I´ve ordered BL 5700SW and Li-Ion A123´s, wheelie bar, bumpers etc

EDIT: Decided to drop in a picture of my friends Wheelie King on my tires.... silly

My bad, yeh I read the HPI site properly and 3s only for the 4600kv motor for the Flux.
Caaine, nice pics, that wheely King looks pretty cool also.

Guys, I have the Mamba Max on my Storm and wondering where I can place the start button.
I have been using double sided tape and sticking it next to the battery tray wall near the ESC but
After a while on the track, it falls off. Any ideas on how I can screw it down properly? Thanks.

LOL, well, the XXX-T almost did.
We accdentally ram one another every other week, and had so much fun sometime the drivers needed a break just for laughing. We even collide in mid air trying to squeeze over a 3 feet wide jump!
That is a left hand hair pin turn on our little self-made track, and the small berm wall was erected from all the weeks of dirt throwing. [8D]
