Currently I just have standard steering. I haven't tried 4WS yet although at times I feel it definitely needs it with locked diffs. It takes an acre to make a U-turn. I would like to get some lock outs to get rid of all the fuss around the rear axle, make it look more realistic. Cutting the servo tray down to just the points where it mounts to the axle and where the links mount helps. Plus that rod tying the C's together is just another part to get hung up on when crawling.

For a more scale look, you can fit the 1.9" tires.. and lower the shell.. look pretty scale to me!! (maybe the axles are a little bit wide, but still pretty good..!)
(The quote is from page 5 of the thread, I'm unsure of how to quote the images as well as text...)

Hi there,
I really like the look of those white wheels, do you know where I can get both the wheels and tires from?

Thanks

Hey PumpkimPie..those look like RC4WD's 1.9 Aliminum "Landies" They are the most realistic looking rims I have seen. They are not beadlocks so I am not sure if you have to glue tires on and how they hold up to crawling. They do look sweet though. Might be perfect for trail riding. Very scale looking indeed. BTW the run about $109 for 4. Find them here...http://rc4wdstore.com/product_info.p...roducts_id=731

Hey LunchBoxer...Is this your rig? If so how does the "Non Beadlock" rims do for crawling? Obviously not for competition but for just having fun crawling do they spin "Inside" the tire much? Thanks -Z

I'm a total newbie to all of this, I just registered today after fondly remembering the day I got a Tammy Mad Bull for my birthday when I was 13, and then wishing it was more capable off road

I'm stuck on deciding between a Hilux or the CR-01...I think I could have more fun initially with the CR-01 since my back garden has firewood lying around it, but the Hilux looks like it could be fun even indoors. I'd like to get both eventually.

I was wondering, which ESC is recommended for the CR-01?

Did you buy your stuff from Modelsport? I've found the CR-01 minus the electronics for £188 and then modelsport can supply everything else in a package for about £96. Do you think that sounds like a fair price? The package from them contains: Techniplus 2 channel radio control, Eco 27 ESC, batteries and charger.

Thanks,
Steve.

yes I bought the CR - 01 from them as a combo kit
Got the novack 55 from them too
The shocks and bent arms I got from a well known internet auction house

you got the truck for £188 well done
they are a bit dearer than elsewhere but the price seem fair to me

Nope.. just pics I saw..

If it is not a beadlock, you'd just have to glue the tires...

Where did you get those 3Racing shocks from? The other parts are available on Ebay but no sign of the shocks...

BTW, that body shell looks great!

3Racing shocks were available on the ebay store RC Mart, the sellers name is dinball. They are 24.99 plus 4.00 shipping. Total 28.99 and it took 7 Days to receive from Hong Kong. Parts and package were perfect.
