ORIGINAL: Brainanator
thanks andy! This body is way thicker than the stock one, but like I said, it doesn't seem to fit great, might tinker on it a bit more later.

Hey guys!
Took my Slash for a bash today and managed to pull a backflip off a jump. Lucky I was filming at the time! ENJOY!

RPM sent me a replacement A arm and bumper mount
but they didn't send the screw that broke in the bumper mount....and they didn't put enough postage on there, since I had to go pay 14 cents to pick it
But I can't complain too much about free replacements eh?
Still waiting on Castle to get back to me....that's the one I really worry about

and the stock motor is only rated for 7 cells.
Still waitin on my motor, got an email from castle a few days ago with an invoice for $0, so hopefully that means it shipped...
I also got a few free shock rebuild kits from traxxas to hopefully stop mine from leaking...

RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck
I am thinking about buying either the Jconcepts over tray or the proline undertray. it seems like the overtray would work good, but it seems like if you get a fan or bigger battery you won't be able to use it. But the undertray seems it allow for expansion upward either for a fan or battery and still have space. So is there anybody that has use these and, which one do you think is better. thanks

Both look fine to me, the under tray looks susceptible to bashing damage (since is under, my chassis has scratches all over it), but should stay in pretty good shape just for racing.
You make a valid point about the air flow for the ESC with the over tray. Maybe try doing some tests to block the air flow and monitor temps closely to see if it makes a big difference for your set up.
And to me, it looks like you would need to get a REALLY big battery before the over tray starts interfering with it.

RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck
Hi all got my slash a wile ago and guess what it was to slow for me.
I have put a LRP SPX bullet reverse ESC and a LRP Vector X11 brushless modified 4.5 motor LOL. It screams but thort it would be faster, I'v tried 18/86 and 16/86 but its running on the hot side i have put a 16/90 in today and its not to bad, but what are others running with a motor close to a 4.5 turn motor or the same sort of motor. How hot sould a brushles motor around 4.5 turn get? do they normly run a heat sink or heat sink with a fan on a motor like a 4.5 turn?
I'm running 7 cell 8.4 volt nimh battires at this stage.
Thanks for any help guys.

I might get that over tray and just cut a hole from my ESC fan... prolly easiest maybe get some kind of mesh material to cover the hole to keep the big crud out...

Just did the O-ring diff mod. Put in a alum case and RPM arms. No time to check it out yet. I also pre-ordered the 4X4. $339.99 to my door. Anxious to give that a try, but the snow will be deep when it gets here. Time to fire up the Blizzard.
