Will you be using it mostly for on-road or off-road?!

I can see this thing goes both ways!

i tend to crash into kerbs on road, so i'll try to keep it off road, although it wont suffer mud/rain like the Touareg did!

another change for Castle, the bullet connectors on the motor/ESC are much tighter, good to see new stuff, even on the budget systems [8D]

comparison pics for LB.. the DF-01 is longer and wider than the TA-02, and in the third pic you'll see my first problem.. the driveshaft is a good 20mm longer than the TA-02 driveshaft, so my hop up wont work..

after testing the 'bent coat hanger' style driveshaft, it bends a lot under full power, and thats unloaded (in the sense that all wheels were off the floor) with more resistance on the wheels (when they are in contact with the ground) i feel it may deform or snap [X(]

also after (multiple times) setting up the Sidewinder and it 'glitching' like mad.. i realised that my stick pack was low on charge [&:][&:][&:]

Nice! Wider is better..

I bet you can get an aluminum pipe to make an extension on that center shaft! Maybe find a local machine shop or friends that have a lathe? Should not be hard to do... !!

You think Tamiya would release a hop-up??

I doubt the stock setup would "break", though... twist slightly and bounce right back, most likely! (steel...)

i hope it doesnt break, as there's no protection for the body, it would shoot straight up and cause damage!

speaking of bodies, i am looking to get a spare body for the Cayenne, but cant source any, if anybody can find them then please let me know.

fixed the electronics in place...

i thought it would look better without the front and rear 'skirts'... but it doesnt... so more paint.. [:@]

i like the mirror holes being pre-drilled, saves a worrying job.

Wa! Why another one?!?! [X(]

A quick question -> It looks like the rear track is wider than the front, is that correct?! That's kind of unusual setup, isn't it?! Or it is just the picture?!

i like it, so got another! with regards the track, the Boxster wheels are different, in that the rears (offset) are different to the fronts, (50750 and 50749) so in theory i could use two sets of fronts or two sets of rears if it caused major problems

Really?! So those Boxster wheels were meant to give the Boxster a stagger look? (without modifying the chassis / arm to achieve that look?)

Very interesting....

thats the only downside to this particular kit, if you leave off the snorkal/roof light bar, your left with unsightly holes everywhere [:@]

i cant wait to run it! [>:]

after thinking about my hop up driveshaft issue, i decided to go on a mission... and i found out that the Manta Ray hop up driveshaft (53079) should fit, so ive got two on order, i'll still run the stock one, but i reckon it'll break on smooth tarmac due to it being a high traction surface [8D]

You have to use a TA01 drive shaft, I just rebuilt my Manta Ray and I thought about a new shaft but I looked at my Ta02 and it was too short so I bought one for the Ta01

Thats a good build,I still dont know why its called a DF01 now, I guess its because the arms are smaller than the Manta ray arms

earlier in the thread i bought a TA-02 hop up driveshaft (thinking it would fit) obviously it didnt, so i got two of the Manta Ray hop ups on the way.

so seeing as the Cayenne will be tested soon, thought i'd fit a non Tamiya hop up!! [:@] as the purists choke on their food, the official Tamiya item (53142) is £50!! (as its very rare)

i removed the 'material' as i want the heat to transfer to the motor mount..

the only difference being a slight difference in build quality and the fact that there is no pinion markings on it, so if you do buy one, remember to keep the plastic one for reference.

also, ive noticed a bit of slop in the steering system, which equates to a couple of degrees on the actual wheels... [:@]
