What C rating lipos do you need ? or how about connecting Two 3S 25C 2200mah lipos in parallel? Does each battery compartment accomodate 2 X 3S 2200mah lipos?
Thanks
Thanks

The folks at Castle recommend minimum 4000 mAh 20C for a Castle Monster 2200 Kv system which is basically what's in the Savage Flux. So that means something that can handle 80A constant discharge. I guess the concern is that batteries that aren't up to spec like that could introduce voltage spikes capable of smoking the ESC under the kinds of demands the motor is putting on the system.

HPI says that you should run 25C or larger lipos in the Flux-it's right in the manual. Considering it runs 2 packs, those sub 3000mah packs should be ok as they meet the discharge requirement, you just won't get super long run times out of them. I say go for it.

absolutely beautiful truck!
but to be honest, imo if im paying 600$+ for a truck the esc needs to come from the factory properly mounted with screws not tape and zip ties.
what was hpi thinking? awesome truck but poor execution on the esc mount. just my .02

I am absolutely loving my new Flux. And the way the esc is mounted is just fine with me.

They could have worked with the OEM provider to add the necessary parts / features, that's one of the advantages of having / using an OEM provider, it's a direct relationship between you and the component manufacturer, so often times they're willing to do things to close the deal instead of having you go with another part, and so on.
