new electrix from Horizon
Anyone bought one of these yet? I saw a review in a magazine and they are only $120. I was thinking of getting my son one for his birthday. He has a mini t now but he wants something to run with my sc10. I would get him a slash but due to current financial short comings I dont think it would be possible anytime soon. I have been saling off my rc collection just to get by the past few months, Iwent from 6 down to 3 with 1 in running condition. I thought about used but his mini t was used and I would realy like to get him a new one. Even though he probably wouldnt care if it was new or used...sorry for the rambling.
Anybody got one?

After being burned by horizons newer models twice so far... I would be VERY cautious about purchasing the electrix. Do a LOT of research. My Losi Strike was the worst RC purchase of all time

I have been enjoying my MONSTER XX that I bought from Target for $99.99. It has all wheel drive, does about 20 MPH and it is weatherproof. You might want to check it out. Here are some pictures.

No one is likely to have one. Reading the page reveals that it is not out till mid September, which should answer your question. As for the truck itself, looks to be a fine budget offering, along the lines of the stinger and raven type trucks. May even be a copy of one of them, haven't looked at the chassis. As usual with this type of thing, hardly any information with the blurb, just lots of 'look at this! It's really cheap!. No information on type of diff (you really don't want to be putting up with rebuilding a cheap ball diff every run), or whether it has ball bearings, also worth taking into account your lads driving skill level, that front looks awful thin and stadium trucks are particularly known for snapping the chassis in frontal impacts. Just something to take into account.

ThunderbirdJunkie would rather get an Evader than the Electrix truck.
Such a positive attitude. You're right. Everybody looking to spend a small amount of money is just poor and stupid. They should take out a loan to buy a Baja, right?

He does kind of have a point though. This is a vastly over populated section of the market. Whilst having a wide choice is all good and that, some people (quite a few actually) have more to spend, and are wondering where the hell are the single battery brushless 4wd 1/10th MTs? I can't believe manufacturers ignore and ignore this request over and over again in favour of bringing more noob heaps out.

Ever.
Let alone specifically requesting a single battery brushless one.

You are the FIRST person ThunderbirdJunkie has heard of that asked for a 4wd 1/10 MT in his fifteen+ years of toy cars.
Ever.

RE: new electrix from Horizon
This reminds me of similar accounts of bicycles(i work at a bike/ski shop). People see these great deals on a full suspension bike at wal-mart/kmart etc etc for $300 or lower. these bikes r fine for just cruising and trails but pound on them and they break(trust me). Their heavy(steel frames) use the cheapest parts possible/cheap crap rims that go out of true just looking at them-lol. junk brake systems. The rear "shock" on these bikes is just a spring w/ adjustable collar(no fluid). Now at the shop i work at we sell TREK bikes. The least expensive full suspension bike trek sells called the Fuel ex 5 retails for $1400-1500. My point is u get what u pay for. So be aware.

And the RS4 MT wasn't discontinued until '99 or '00, so people wouldn't have been yearning for it for 15 years

It's amazing how little designing goes into these super cheap RC's. Note the styling copied from HPI. The tires are Geolandars, the wheels are from the wheely king, and most noticeable is the body, which looks suspiciously like Savage body.
