Skinning AFPD
Hi folks,
as rotemarie posted in [link=http://www.rc-sim.de/wbb2/thread.php?threadid=2358&threadview=0&hilight=&hilightuser=0&page=1]this thread[/link], you can skin alot of AFPD's graphics.
With that you can change AFPD's look completely! See the pictures!
Cheers,
Lego

Wow!
That's awesome, I was thinking that those TMT files did something like that. I never got around to investigating though.
Thanks!
Greg.

RE: Skinning AFPD
Hi,
yes, it's quite simple:
The wallpaper consists of 2 pictures:
- afmap00.tmt (1024x512)
- afmap01.tmt (1024x256)
Just replace them with appropriate BMPs...
The buttons are all files with a name afpdbutton*.tmt (256x64).
You can replace them with an appropriate BMP. Background color and the area around the visible button must be black (= transparent).
If you want to have semeitransparent effects just add a afpdbutton*_trans.bmp as an alpha channel.
E.g. if you want to replace the FLY-button:
replace afpdbuttongo.tmt by afpdbuttongo.bmp with 256x64 pixels. If you also want some semitransparent effects, add afpdbuttongo_trans.bmp (also 256x64) with appropriate grey values.
I think the other graphics elements work in the same way...

RE: Skinning AFPD
How do you get rid of the join between the afmap00.tmt and the afmap01.tmt???
I've been "Slicing" them like you would for publishing images to the web...........
Thanks!
Greg.

Hi Greg,
the thin line is only visible if the screen resolution is larger than 1024x768. It must be something inside AFPD causing this.
I played around with some icon-buttons. AFPD then looks much better. [8D]

Ahhhh...I see,
Lego: I wonder if you could please tell me how you convert your bmp/jpgs to TMT? Can you use the "afpdjtof.exe"?
Thanks!
Greg.
I've finished my "Carbon" theme for AFPD!

I already made a start with some glass-style icon-buttons on my homepage: [link=http://www.kdkuehn.de/sim_afpd_themes.htm]Themes Download[/link]
Greg,
there is a non-public tool called 'maketmt'...
Have fun!

RE: Skinning AFPD
Anybody know how I can submit any of these models I have repainted in Aerofly Pro? Rodeo posted a Fokker DVII for me on the rc-sim.de site. But he is doing so much for the hobby I hate to bother him with more work. Any way I can contact them and share some of these models. I have Guenther Von Buren's Fokker DVII 1:5 and a repaint of Miss Marylnn P-51 done in the Gunfighter scheme. I included a screenshot of the Fokker.

Hi Ghost flyer,
I think this should help you: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=3535516&key=
Thanks for that Lego, sorry to keep bugging you but: can I get that from Ipacs?
I'll have to upload some AFPD themes to RC-Sim!
Thanks!
Greg.

Hi Greg,
wonderful skins!!
You don't neccessarily have to convert the files into TMT. It works well with BMPs. The TMT format offers no advantage for the buttons compared to BMPs. But of course you may ask IPACS for the tool...
