<-Wondering if AE/Thunder tiger will suprise us with a Gasser too......not like Cen that has a rip off first gen mcd truck.
Anyway, back on topic,Losi 4wd gasser, need a roller with no servos,rx or engine and in kit form priced under 900.I think
that would make me get one.till then 1599 for a made in china car, nope not me.

Seems the 8ight is put together in america but mostly taiwan parts.
Seems it used to be made in usa until HorizonHobby bought them and outsourced.

USA, not entirely sure but I was at Awesome RC hobbies RaceTrack a few years back complaining about my Strike and the guys with the 8ights claimed only the 8ight models are made in USA the rest are all china. Dunno if that was true and dunno if that relates to the 1/5th scale version.
Never mind

True, but this isnt a hurrax, its a mass production losi,i dont see the same quality but its priced similarly.
Having said that, the losi shock towers look real thin,7075 dosent need to be so thick?

RE: Losi 1/5 scale???
The Losi 5IVE-T weighs 37 pounds 2.5 ounces with out gas. A new HPI 5SC with out gas weighs 29 pounds 4.5 ounces. We are told the release date is October 1st but ya just never know these days...
TGN and LSN will keep you guys posted and share our information with RC Universe. You can see the truck for pre-sale and a list of parts we have confirmed fit the Losi here:
http://www.tgndistributing.com/large...si-5ive-t.html
We will update the world on any and all Losi news at http://largescalenews.com/ and expect more images and videos coming very soon.
Question for you all... Many years ago I would come here and chat about our FG MT 1/5 and then years later our HPI Baja 5b and now our Losi 5IVE-T. What's next?

maybe a radio lol.
sorry but for $1600 and being a new vehicle to the market they could have included a radio (a decent one anyways).
i guess they know the included radio's in losi rtr's are junk so that's why it's not included.
and yes i've had a few losi's and know about the radio issues they have.
since horizon bought losi they have gone downhill big time in quality.

RE: Losi 1/5 scale???
2 wheel drive cause:
I can race it against hpi baja/fg marder/fg baja whatever 2 wheel drive gasser...
it will be priced similar to the hpi baja and
mite make it easier to do a gear swap, you need to remove fuel line/linkage/engine
just to change the pinion on the losi rite?

RE: Losi 1/5 scale???
Especially when you consider the price of the European racing kits and its main competition, the baja 5sc. Yes, I know they're completely different platform styles and race classes, but when you walk into most (sadly, none around here) hobby shops these will be the most stocked and advertised. Their prices aren't seperated by that much on the sticker. When you take into account the differences like 4wd vs 2wd, machined chassis vs stamped, 1/4 scale servo vs standard, rear brake only vs 4 wheel braking, etc, the price difference is negligible.
They also stated they didn't intend this to be someone's first 1/5 scale and expected their customer base to already have such. I, for one, would rather not buy one with a radio and save that money up front instead of trying to sell it with hopes of getting 1/2 of what it cost seperate. I've yet to use one that came in the 10+ rc models (4 1/5 scales) I've bought. I have my own personal one I modified years ago and just buy receivers or swap it.

RE: Losi 1/5 scale???
Yeah I'd prefer it without the rx too, but from a marketing standpoint getting people to buy spektrum radios (also a horizon brand) is smart. Still the first thing I'm going to do is rip that rx out and set it up with my 4pk
I'd love a kit version too but losi isn't really into those anymore

RE: Losi 1/5 scale???
Yeah, me too. I have enough spare engines and engine parts that I could do without the engine also and rather save $120 or so off the sticker. But, that's gettin picky about a car that isn't even out yet. Hopefully they'll offer such later. I ALMOST started typing something about them maximizing profits by tying customers into Spektrum, but I don't know (nor care)enough to open that can of worms.
46u, I highly doubt it. Their telemetry isn't compatible across their entire radio lines. I had inquired about using their telemetry rx that comes on the losi xxl with another of their radios a while back and they said no. Don't take this as an answer though. Only an ASSumption.

Wonder if the sensor for the Spektrum will work with the discontinued React? More then likely not.

a doubt it too, to use the spekky you have to run in the beta software mode and that doesn't run all features ...I tried to use one once with my react and while it works ok it's nowhere near the speed of the nomadio rx and the batt telemetry didn't work either and that doesn't even require a sensor
