Default CY26

Ok, so understanding it happens, and i'm sure it will not affect performance, what that heck is a cy26, seeing as the 2nd batch will use this engine and not the Zenoah!

With the second batch of Monster Trucks beginning to ship we have a small change, Zenoah is not able to deliver enough G260 motors to complete the Trucks therefore we have gone ahead and allowed the CY motor to replace the G260 motor until Zenoah is able to furnish enough motors to complete orders. The CY motor can share Internal and external parts with the Zenaoh and performs as well with the same durability.

We expect to begin using the Zenoah again in January of 2005.

it is FG`s new off road 26cc engine, specs are

3.9hp @14,000 rpm
1.81 Nm @ 10,000 rpm
19500 rpm max speed

You can but it standard or tuned versions specs are

5.2hp @ 14000
2.1 NM @10000
20100 rpm max speed

it is described as "comparable" with a Zenoah engine. standard mounts with similar size weight.

taken from the 2004 FG catalogue.

Andrew - So if we don't want a CY26 - should we cancel our order and wait until next year?
IE- are all MT's ordered thru you ( I ordered thru one of your distributers) - going to have the CY26 until next Jan?

Guess it would give me an excuse to by another FG - fingers crossed that MB's still have Z260's in them!

Thx.

i was thinking the same thing, i might as well wait till april or may now, as it will be WAY to cold to run it in Jan.

I have never heard of this engine, makes me kind of nervous!

this is true of all future MT's till January US or EC This is a Zenoah issue. If motors come sooner then Zenoah is saying that may change. The CY is so similar you can not even tell the diff unless you take the motor apart and do not see the casting on the cylinder that says zenoah. Let your dealer know you wish to wait for the Zenoahs.

If parts are interchangeable and durability is the same I cant really see the problem myself.

I appreciate the the zenoha is tried and tested but I cant see a company like fg fitting an engine which could ruin thier reputation.

Just my opinion.

Just would be nice to have the Z260 - since that's what we expected. One of my main issues with the Firehammer was the "Unknown" engine...aspect. I plan to keep my order for the MT - just hope they hurry up and get here :-) Hell send it w/out the engine.[8D]

Andrew - is the Cy26 the standard version or the tuned? If std is tuned an option?

thx.

You may purchase a tuned version of the motor but we do not offer it assembled that way.
