zenoah head torque setting
ellos
im trying to refit a head to a zenoah g260 engine after replacing gasket, problem is i dont have a torque wrench, ive tightened both bolts bit by bit evenly but so far each time i start the engine after a few mins fluid starts to leak, only slightly, so ive tightened them again but still a little leak...
im not sure if i should continue to tighten or would this damage the gasket!?
when i 1st tried it after the 1st time i tightened the bolts there was alot of leak, after the second time there was less & now it seems less again after the 3rd time i tightened the bolts, im just worried that i dont over tighten them!
is it usually this fiddly to get the head fastened so theres no leak?
also if its a must, what type of torque wrench do i need, a link to one in UK would be great, ty in advance

RE: zenoah head torque setting
well, i tried tightnening again but still a small leak from one place, also the clutch seems to be slipping again, this is prob due to the reason why i replaced head gasket in 1st place as there was a big leak comming from head gasket & the fluid was running down into the clutch housing. Would this cause the clutch to slip?
at the mo when i give a fast flip of the throttle you can hear the weird noise which i guess is the clutch slipping, when i go slow its fine.
I tried cleaning the clutch area with cotton buds & dry cloth etc & alot of black soot kind of dust came out, but it still seems to be slipping, whats the best method of cleaning it ?

also ive jsut tried holding the clutch bell by hand & if i turn both rear wheels at same time hard enough i can turn them while still holding the clutch bell still, is this a sign of the clutch slipping?

the clutch only engages when you open up the throttle, the two shoes are on springs and as the engine moves it forces the shoes out onto the clutch bell,i doubt the clutch will slip as its on a tapered crankshaft (unless the clutch pads are really worn?),maybe the pinion is moving on the clutch bell - as for the leak on the cylinder...i would use a new gasket & thread lock the 2 cylinder head bolts - if it still persists use abit of liquid gasket to get an airtight seal, get some from your local car shop for about £3

Cylinder Torque for Zenoah G230rc &G260RC is 70 (kg-cm) The limit's are 60-80. You can get the Owners Manual here->[link]http://www.zenoah.net/products/hobby/download/G230RC_G260RC_307.pdf[/link][sm=thumbup.gif] On page 7.

RE: zenoah head torque setting
ty for relpy guys
it was a new gasket ive fitted, i knew the torqe settings but i dont have a torque wrench!
The pinion gear is solid tight, think i will open the clutch housing again & spray some cleaner in it to clear all the cr@p that the leaked fuel made, maybe thats causing it to slip, as for the leak, maybe i will try some gasket sealer as RCM mentioned, ty again for reply guys
thing thats strange though is ive only had my MB Pro about 6 months & hardly used it, yet my head gasket was leaking causing this problem.. imo the head was leaking from day one but i didnt notice.
So im not amused to say the least after spending near enough £1k on it!

Try setting it against a non-movable object and give it some gas till you see where your weak link is. The clutch is probably not the problem. If you do clean the area out use a brake cleaner so as not to leave oil residue.
