Question about FG part # 6431 ?
So i ordered this a while back, for my FG MT it's part # 6431, a steel gear. I THINK it goes and meshes with the diff gear, i have everything apart now and i'm wondering if thats where it goes, it's not the exact size as the stock one, it's a little bigger, but no more teeth? Should i install it while i'm at it?
I'm installing
Rear upper alloy a arms
wheelie bar
alloy gear carrier
roll bar for truck body

If memory serves me right, then there is a wide 6431 gear, that is used for the Engine Pinion, which is wider than the first ones from FG, and makes the Plastic gear wheel last longer.
It can also be used on the Diff.

No this gear is bigger in mass. BUT where the gear meshs with the other one, it is smaller across the width.
Anyone know what is up with this gear? So should i NOT install it?

Man i could use that gear!! because no matter how much i move my engine back i still have a little bit of unwanted play in the diff and layshaft gear.. ima check into that one buddy it you say it's a tiny bit bigger. But i'd use it if i were you.

Yah see thats exactly what i was thinking, seems there is a little play and the mesh should be tighter with the stock one, this one seems bigger in mass so it SHOULD mesh the gears tighter! I'll install it and see how it works out for me. So it's called the laylash gear, got it!
