Default What engine temps are you getting on your baja5b

has anyone tested the engine temps on the baja5b , i bought a roll of gasket paper rated at 120 deg max would it be enough for the heat ranges these engines make ?

I've never actually measured, but I'd imagine parts of it get over 120F... Unless of course you mean 120C, maybe it doesn't get that hot

Come to think of it, I have no clue at all :/

yes 120C , i think it has to hold up , lol they sell those useless standard gaskets thats made of cornflakes boxes lol that melt with oil and fuel . i think the stuff i got is better than what they sell . this roll cost $17 they had another roll that was $55 . nitro engines get upto 270 but i dont know if thats CELSIUS OR FARAN. im thinking that baja5b engines in celsius it proberly wont reach 120C . damn i was at my hardware store at bunnings lol and saw they sell handheld infra red laser heat sensors for $30 i should go get one

Where do you plan on using the gasket material you bought?Intake?bottom of cylinder?Your head gasket should be copper..
Your exhaust will be the hottest..You do not really take any temp readings on these gas engines..Like you do on nitro..
Nitro run hotter fuel..that gets your nitro engine hot over 300* if your leaned way out..AKASlawhammer

carb and head , but exhaust i dont think so ,too hot for that maybe , they say its the best stuff for oil and fuel but limited in use cos of its low heat range capabilities. I might return it and get the hotter stuff rated at 400C .

i dont know not everyone uses copper head gaskets all the time .

thats about 248 deg F, which is right about what i read on the exh side after a good hot run. my motor doesnt get much over 180-200 deg on the head on a good day.
