Default which transmittor and receiver??

hi peeps
was playing with my carson comanche today and noticed that when i was a bit far from the car it would play up
i dont know if it was just me but it felt like the steering would not work
also on idle it would rev up a bit but only when its a far
my friends car was fine at that distance and plus my failsafe would of kicked in if i was out of range
im using a cheap transimittor and cheap reciever.
so i wanna upgrade.

i was told theres a good futaba one which tells you how fast your going but to be honest i just want a
good transimttor and receiver.
alsi i dont like the gun ones
carnt get use to it.
so the normal square transmittor.

which transimttor and receiver do you guys recomend.

thanks hass

I like the Spektrum systems for large scale cars, check out the DX3r or DX3s.

Mmm so you want an aircraft style? Not sure what's best for ground use, but both Futaba and Spektrum make great aircraft transmitters.

There is a lot of talk about what to use now days..and what you want to add to your RC Unit..lights.electronic kill switch..
I have a Spkyrum DX3.0..3 channel..2.4Ghz...pistol grip style.....If I were to do it again I would get a Futaba 3pm for the money..another pistol grip style
..I did talk to a Rep on the phone from Fatuba about more channel use and the air craft style.....The FCC Rules have changed ...You can use a couple different aircraft style
Transmitters....For ground use..was suggested to me for the money to go with Futaba 6 EX 2.4Ghz to have extra channels for different things....
Just thought I would chime in here.....AKASlawhammer

that will work fine. don't worry about the extra channels not being used, it won't be a problem

I too say a Futaba 3PM. Get teh 3PM 2.4GHz FASST radio set, that is a great radio system and no worries about crystals, even.
