another zhen hua radio?
I too purchased a feda dragonfly,it came with a serial cable and tru-flight.My radio does not have the small red switch, nor does it have the dip switches in the back.Hence,it does not work with any flight sim so far. This was an ebay purchase, and the seller is has been quite helpful, and is looking into this for me.My heli seems to work fine,I switched the radio to mode two. This forum has been great! I am interested in the main rotor mod.Can some who has done this tell me more about it,or point me to the instructions?

RE: another zhen hua radio?
I also got a Zhen Hua Radio on my Dragonfly.
It has the rudder switched backwards and the connector seems to be glued and it's impossible to reverse it. I know those Radios that have DIP switches are able to reverse the controls, but since my radio don't have the DIP switches (see pic) I thought that maybe I can "bridge" the points where the channel that controls the servo is located.
Do you think this could work?
Also maybe I can solder a small switch on "dip" #5 so the Radio can be used on Simulators?
Sorry for the blurred picture

RE: another zhen hua radio?
The TX dipp switches for servo reverse simply reverse 2 wires on the stick's pot... Its an easiser mod than the RX. (and safer) The center wire is not changed.
FCC regs say you can't modify the RF board in the TX. Swapping wires on a stick pot has no effect on the RF board. (but be VERY careful in there... don't want to drip solder on the RF board.)
RCM magazine used to (might still) run articles on how to do mods like this. If you write them and ask if they have an article on installing a servo reverse switch in a TX... I bet you can get it for postage. (maybe a $ or two...I don't know thier reprint policy.)

RE: another zhen hua radio?
Thanks FHHubber,
That did the trick!
I switched the position of the cables (minus center) and soldered them and it works fine now.
But still I'm tempted on the #5 switch for simulator compatibility.... Hmmmm
Regards,
Rayan

Really... never modify the RX. There's just too many things that can go wrong.
For flight sim compatibility... find an old TX at a yard sale. I've picked up 10 to 12 yr old Futaba's for $5 before. Throw out the battery(take it to Radio Shack for recycling), crush and trash the crystal... use it for a buddy box. (OK... maybe it will still work as the primary radio for flying if you replace the battery... want to risk the plane hitting someone?)
