Nice job on the pictures Jerry. I reposted them on the Air Supremacy over Elkhart RCU thread. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-w...-2013-a-4.html

I worked on the Panther a little more. Everything that I had done I brought to display at our club meeting yesterday. That's a picture of Rick Hixon inspecting one of my wing panels. I will take the two Panthers to Osmoces 2013 at the IIT Rice campus in Wheaton on Saturday as a display. http://www.osmoces.org

Hi JoFunk,
That is the way you get other people into building. This is going to be a lost art, what you and I do, if others don't start doing it. I thought I would let you know, I took "Pilot's Choice" at the Hamburg Jet Rally this weekend for the Fury. Check my build thread here on RCU in a few days, and I'll have pictures posted......

Congratulations on the pilots choice award Larry.........I started building the section between F 9 and F 10 on the Panther. It takes the wing plug ins and the main retracts. It is easier to align everything by building this as a seperate unit.

I glued the hoz. stab halves together and made some main landing gear plates....... Whats that in the background???????? Its the SSLV (Space Shuttle lift vehicle). AKA a Byron Pipe Dream. It is getting a motor upgrade to a G62. Flying it with the quadra 35 was like pulling teeth trying to get to a reasonable drop altitude..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDxL...layer_embedded

Hi Jofunk,
You were asking for some video of the Farview Flyers Jet Rally in October. I hope this comes through: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jsthl4lR-hA
Look at :48 seconds and you will see the FJ-1 do a fly-by. Also at 1:18 doing a landing. There is a shot of it sitting on the ground at the begining of the video while they are scanning the other models....

Mr fun made a plug and a mold of the front of his panther to make a glass nose for his and John Roth's Panthers. Mr Fun came over saturday night and mounted his nose, I worked on a spar and servo tray for my hoz. stab.

I put a few more flights on the Panther today. I figured it would be the last chance this season. The last time I had it out I got a "bad start" reading. Barry from King Tech had me change some of the start up Parameters. The engine started immediately. The plane flew great. The grass was a little tall today but Vladimir's nose strut handled it with no problem. I got some of the flight on video..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BuI0S...m-upload_owner

The 1/4 scale Panther is really nice! Too big to fit into my trailer though...
This one might be way too big!

That inadvertent spin looks really nasty - especially the second break to the opposite side! I'll bet new shorts were in order after that!

Hi Joe,
Just stumbled onto your thread. Nice job on the Panther and flying it at Air Supremacy over Elkhart (my event).
Can't wait to see them all together. Make sure you contact me and I will make room at Air Supremacy over Elkhart for a demonstration flight of all the Panthers.
Cheers,
Chuck

HI Chuck,
I had a good time flying at your event. It was well run. Hopefully Sebastian will have a second quarter scale Panther and Mr. fun a third finished for your event next year. John Roth with the #4 Panther is very busy teaching Illinois Concealed Carry classes, and #5 I see not being completed for quite a while.I started goofing around with a 6th airframe but there is no deadline to get it done. Hopefully I will see you out there next year.
Thanks,
Joe

I hung Panther # 1 in the garage for the winter and pulled the main gear out to start jigging up the center section on Panther # 6. These two bulkheads take the wing load and the landing gear load but usually not at the same time.
