It reverses the nose steering without using a separate channel over the rudder. Y lead basically.
So either is fine

If your opening for the rudder doesn't come out to clean or straight don't worry. The fairing will cover it up.

Just cut down a #11 exacto blade and glue it to a spare servo arm. Install it on the servo. It will cut a slit in the stab. Make a rough cut out. Then clean it up.

The liners were made for the Classic Flash, with the UF wing its thinner at the gear position.
Make a card template with the card, rested on the top skin mark to the lip where the returns sit. Cut the covers in half and trim to match. When you install them the top skin will be between the two halves

I fly as my addendum sheet on CARF's site. Some like the lower end of the flap movement I give. I like as much drag as possible, but No CROW which just dumps lift. Some people have 3-4mm CROW to change the 'sit' on the approach, I still don't set any when I do set ups.
so
The flap settings for the Ultra Flash are:
Take off 25-28mm (1-1 1/8”). Landing 95-100mm (3 ū” to 4”) both figures measured at the root, trailing edge of each flap. The landing flap setting creates maximum drag and rapid deceleration with no power, some pilots reduce this figure to 85mm (3 3/8”) and also add a few mm of CROW 3-4mm recommended.
The Ultra Flash requires down elevator with flap. Take off 1.5mm and Landing 4.5-5mm measured at the elevator trailing edge tip. Exact figures will be affected by balance position.

For experienced flyers start at 225-230mm back

Default UF collected at JetPower 2015, quality at another level!

Hereby some pictures of my colourful UF collected at JetPower 2015.

This is my second UF and all I can say this is just a another standard. The wood construction is nicely made, everything looks strait and no offset in the landing gear support. The FRP just looks perfect and another difference I noticed is the yellow color airex, my first UF had green.
Standard servo's of 20mm wide will fit in the tailwing without any dremel work because they did not use airex, in the aria were the servo is mounted, which gives about 3mm more depth in the servo bay.

Michel

Glad you are happy...never saw my coffee :-)
The tail has had just glass above the elevator servos for a long time, 20mm wide servos are still a struggle.
Looking forward to finished pictures

How long of flight time did you get with the 100 and just main tank?

I have a K100. I have been going back and forth on the 120 or 140.

If u could get away with the single tank, the 120 might be a great combo

The long Flash fuse tank is not great for using all the fuel, any verticals in the last third of a flight and you will get lots of air in the hopper. IMO you cannot get away with a single tank if you want to push it around.
A 100N turbine normally you are at high power much longer. A 120-140 is the perfect turbine for an UF

Ultra Flash flies great with a 100.
Wouldn't fly it without wing tank though. You will run out of usable fuel quickly without wing tank.
I have my timer set for 6 minutes and land with what I would say is a overly safe amount of fuel in the main.

Agreed, we have lots of people with 100N (P-100Rx and P-90Rxi) turbines and using the wing tank they fly 8 1/2 mins happily.
But, 120N is all-round best!

Would love to try a K120 in the UF Dave. Exchange rate is somewhat bad in Australia at the moment but

thatīs true Dave .i had air in the hopper all the three flights and i thought it was some air leak,so itīs a problem of tankīs shape?

shoul i add the wing tank or any suplementary tanks, unfortunatlly i donīt have saddles...

I fly 7 minutes with saddle tanks and Jets Munt 200X. I'm at 30 - 40% throttle most of the time which is great for the engine. I land with almost 40% fuel left in the center tank. Total capacity of the modified kevlar saddle tanks (to accommodate by pass) and kevlar center tank is approx. 3700 ml...

Love the UF.. got a second one in the works...

David..
