K140G2 as soon as I get it back...Ran it on the stand and found it leaking fuel afterwards. Jeti CB200, Cortex Pro, MKS 1220 on flaps, MKS 1230 Ail/ Rud, Jr8411's Ele, Savox 1270 NWS. Waiting to buy RX batts until I see what it needs for weight up front!

How exciting! Your going to LUV (plug for Southwest Airlines stock) your Flash! Ultra or Classic? Color? I believe your engine choice is personal preference. Do you want to go fast or faster? Longer flight times, shorter flight times? I'm a Jetcat 140Rxi guy, I use those in both the Flash and the Rebel. I really like the clean install of the Rxi, not having to mount external fuel pump and external fuel solenoid. Any questions during your build (I like to say assembly), this is the place!

Ultra Flash in the Sport Red/Yellow/Black. 8411's all the way around. looking for all around sport flying. Not looking to break records!! Although unlimited vertical sounds fun!

I started flying my new Ultra Flash last year with a Wren SuperSport (17lb), and put ~50 flights on it before upgrading to a Merlin 140XBL (31lb).
The UF/ Wren combo was great; 9 minutes flights, smooth, quick (~180mph from GPS), but not unlimited performance and I soon found that you could fly the whole flight at max thrust from take-off to setting up for landing (and still get 9mins+).
Upon upgrading to the Merlin 140XBL, the first few flights it felt like a fire-breathing monster, but I quickly settled in and after 20+ flights now it just seems 'normal' again. Unlimited, accelerating vertical from take-off, and happy to cruise around at <1/2 throttle at around 150mph. GPS says it just tops out slightly over 200mph (I have to say I was expecting more.....!!!), but you do have to be vigilant on throttle usage otherwise it can start to get away from you, as it will accelerate in any orientation. I still get 8+mins flying on the same fuel (mains + saddles, 116floz)
The Wren made the UF a docile, relaxing everyday flyer, whilst the Merlin 140 just adds an extra fire-breathing dimension when you feel the need, without detracting from the docile, everyday flyer characteristics.
You'll enjoy it either way, but if you go small, be prepared to upgrade to a bigger motor at some point.

Well look what arrived today. Got her unpacked and checked in. So far, everything looks ok. I "thought" the wing tank came with it, so I guess I am going to have to make an executive decision on the tanks. Saddle or wing tank. Either way I have to make a decision soon. Also, it came with a hopper tank and only one clunk. Not that I plan on using the hopper in the kit, but I was going to ask what others thought of the tank hardware?
Other than that, Its time to make the donuts. Need to order the power plant, clunks or tanks and get this thing going.
Here we go!

Dblex,
let let the games begin. Wing tank, IMO, is a little easier/cleaner to install. Hopper tank, again is personal preference. I'm using the CAT 120, it's nice. The Intairco is really nice cause you can see through it AND take it apart to clean. Let us know if you have questions. Nice color! Should be really easy to track while haul'n the mail.

Do not use the supplied clunk unless you can drill out the centre hole, it's too small on the latest clunks. Hopper tank, MAP Canada Hi-Flow is my choice, the supplied bottle with the top cut off makes a great brush cleaner for the epoxy sealing stages ;-)
The rest of the tank and tubes supplied work perfectly, I prefer the wing tank original set up, all my Flash builds have had that and the local squadron of UF the same, if you use a Festo 6mm tap as the joining tube you can turnoff the tap and seal the tank before you remove the wing.
Enjoy the build.

Newb smoke question. I was testing my smoke system. After it was all said and done when I was messing with the plane some diesel ran out of the tail. I was just using diesel for the tests. The pipe was cool so not worried about damage to the pipe but was wondering how much cleaning I need to do. Wipe it out and be done? Obviously don't want to start a fire in the tail pipe.
Thanks!
