Lmao! I was just trying to help you out!!! Then again I was really happy with keeping this sport scheme. I can see this thing a mile away!!! Not to mention that I wasn't expecting to get much flying time since school and sports were right around the corner for my kids. Then all of a sudden, my son is asking me to fly bigger stuff. WAIT WHAT!!??? So I have been getting him going on a few projects. He got more flying time this weekend than I did!! It's not an ultra flash video but he is pure entertainment! For some reason the resolution goes to SD but it is available in 720
This weekend I did spend time with full flaps and slow flight. It is mind blowing how this thing handles it. Then again, I can relate to the guys who are overpowering this beast. She just seems to handle anything you throw at her. I am truly impressed. You guys on this thread have really contributed to a great experience with my UF.

Well that's great I'm glad I didn't buy it from you and you're getting to enjoy it, it's an amazing jet. I've been working a little on mine new Cayman scheme Flash over the weekend and so far it's been going smooth.

Horizontal stab alignment
Well I decided that if one UF is good, 2 must be great! When building this one I've run into an issue with the horizontal stab not aligning perfectly due to where the dowel meets the hole. I've cleaned all the seams, but as you can see there's about a 1mm difference from it sitting flush. Obviously this will affect the incidence, and I'm just curious how big of a deal it is? If it is, how to correct it?

Yeah, there's a hairline gap on the top surface of the leading edge...as well as the bottom center portion sitting about 1mm proud of the fuse. My other Flash looks like yours with it completely flush. Any ideas on how to snug it up?

Well what can I say, it's eye catching!
I'm thinking that the dowel pin is the culprit. You'll have to see if you can trim it a bit, but watch out because you don't want it to have any play. Or you can leave it as is and you probably won't notice a difference in flight. Probably only need a few extra clicks of down trim if anything.

So my first Ultra flash build.
What a pain the wing servo covers are, particularly for rigging, right?
I came up with a work around that I just thought to share to hopefully make somebody else's life easier.
First make up the wing box mounts and install the servos and selected arms.
Next, center the AILERON servo arm both at 90 degrees to the case and in the center of the aileron arm cutout on the Carbon panel, adjusting as required, then drill 2 small holes thru the Carbon panel and into the wing box servo mounts, use the screws to locate the wing box mount on the panel, adjust as required.
Remove panel and make up a 1/4 inch temporary custom plywood piece using the Carbon panel mounting holes and the two small holes previously described as a guide.
Install the wing box mounts onto the plywood jigs and you can now adjust the servo arms, control throws and rod lengths without continuously installing and removing the panels.
Once rigged, remove the plywood pieces, add a dash of Aeropoxy or your chosen epoxy to the wing box servo mount & the Carbon wing panels then mate up, once again using the the two additional small holes as a guides.
Of course there will be some minor adjustments to the movements once the Carbon panels are permanently installed.
Attached pictures speak a 1000 words.

Got a few flights on my new UF with the tail issue. Flys just fine, but does carry less "up" trim than my other one with almost identical CG's. Cheetah 160 SE...she's a beast!

To all the guys running the Jet Central Cheetah.
How do you manage the electrical plug on the engine, are you guys cutting a clearance hole in the carbon by-pass?

I rotated the engine 45 degrees in the aluminum mount, placing the connection right between the 2 halves of the by-pass. Easy to slide the cover in and out. Will get a pic when I'm back home for ya.

Here ya go...FWIW I found the 30" cable to be a bit short. I spoke with Jose and they make a 36" that I'm going to grab.

Finally finished my neon yellow Cayman scheme Ultra Flash. Maiden her today and put 3 successful flights on her. A few little things to tweak before next flight but as always, such a wonderful jet. Mine has a Jet Central Rhino (36lb thrust older version) so there's plenty of power and thrust. Jet came out to exactly 25lbs without fuel, so I estimate around 31 lbs with a full tank.
