This is a good indication of what happens if you have a needle or vap tube problem the others have to work harder to produce the rpm the ECU wants and so run a lot hotter in the CC, causing the cracking of the NGV.

Chrigui, what did you use to clean the CC

Default RE: Jet Cat 120 repair

the original egv was reduced in diameter (i dont know who has done the work... ) and the thickness was only 0,25 mm
maybe to fit in the non original flange stick support
with high temp the egv cracked..also i found the gap between turbine wheel and egv was over 0,6mm in radius
(maybe modified to eliminate turbine touching egv)
i know that engine was buyed by ebay in holland...
i clean with fine sand and washed....alternative is ultrasound when carbon deposits are less than in the photo

I started this thread [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=9049882]DIY Turbine stripdown & Maintenance[/link] some time back, as a database to other threads with similar stuff, would be nice for it to develop further as there is a lot if interest in DIY turbine work.

Chrigui maybe you will post a link to this thread on it as well.

(DIY Turbine stripdown & Maintenance)

It would be my new addiction. Chrigui good repair work. I am learning something new since the (HOW ITS MADE) video for example the P-120 uses 6 burner not sure if the new P-120 SE using 12 sticks.

By the way nice work also on machining the new NGV. What material are you using?

What material did you use to make your injector needles, where did you purchase from?

Thanks, Neal

Good work, chirigui.

I have repaired this JC 120SE ( 6 sticks ). The NGV was in very bad condition. I have used a cast NGV like you, but this is a chinese one. It´s casted in inconel 713C, very very dificult to machine.

Regards.

I think Albisser NGV are not inconel, usually NGV are made from high grade SS. ( ANC 5B), and they are fairly easy to machine ( I havve machined several) . The supplier told me that this was Inconel 713 C, and actually is not easy to machine.

Regards.
