I made the balance of the model. I remind you that the CG is 35-40mm forward of the rear hatch. See immage...

I have flown these with P80's and the Wren 100 I have not found it necessary to use anything more than the heat reflective tape to shield the fuselage where the turbine exhaust exits. However I did find the Wren 100 before I had the defuser fitted did make the surface warm.

I tried without protection but I have checked that the tail was very hot. To avoid the risk, I mounted a protection. I have install P100RX Jetcat

I'm sorry,
No testing of the Pantera. Yesterday afternoon I was at the camp two hours waiting for a strong wind... Test and movie postponed to Friday I guess ... I will keep you updated.

Good to see it in the air, sorry about the landing, I hope it is not too damaged?

How did you find the CG and flight performance?

Cheers

The model flies very well. It is very stable and maintains precise trajectories. I recommend putting down trust on turbine at least 4 degrees to avoid the climb with full throttle. The exact CG is 4 cm forward at the rear edge of the canopy, measured with down landing gear , full UAT and empty tank.
Fortunately my Pantera had only left wing destroyed but thanks to Italian reseller of YT International , 8fly , after just 3 days I got a new pair of wings No other damage Fortunately

Judging by the take off speed and length needed and indeed the fast landing do you not think the plane was nose heavy. There has been so much debate about the C of G on this model. They will actually land very slowly indeed

Finally! Yesterday first fly of my Pantera Jet.
Perfect except for the brakes that were blocking the wheels too soon. In the two movies that post in youtube see the brake block immediatly the well. No problem... Confirm that the exact CG is 4 cm forward at the rear edge of the canopy, measured with down landing gear , full UAT and empty tank.
For the rest all fantastic: the model has necessitated in the first flight of the usual trimming of the three different phases of flight, but nothing special. The turbine, needs other 2° negative for be perfect.
The turbine P100RX I think is ideal for this model and drives well. In the second video we can see how the model fails to take-off climb easily with the Pantera Jet weight 11kg to takeoff.
Yesterday I see that the model with all flap moved wings but I must check today and tomorrow in the next flights if it was because of the light crosswind.
The Panther performs well in flight and is able to combine low speeds with hight speed. The landings with flaps extended (I have 8cm excursion to the flaps) are not really a problem. I think you could squeeze a bit 'more of the spring nose gear that take-off seems to be a little' soft.
I remember my Pantera has all the standard equipment of the kit (gear, legs struts and brake by YT).
The video is loading and will soon be available on youtube at

I think you may be right, the problem may also be the fuel tank full (2.5 litres) which is located in front of the cg. However today I retry using 80 mm down flaps (on maiden was only 40 mm)

She will slow up a lot more for some really slow landings, just use 80 degrees + of flap.
Just back from Jetpower where the Pantera went really well, hold her on the brakes at full power for a really short take off, looks spectacular

It is ' true Pantera can land moore slowly.
In the following flights have increased the flap and the result 'was excellent.

Mine had its maiden flight on the weekend. Lucky enough at a full size airstrip for the test flights

Initially the CG was too far forward, but some minor adjustment and all was well overall and it flys very well. Smooth and stable.

KingTech K80F for power, 11.5KG dry weight. 2.5L Fuel tank.
