Dave the bypass is pretty small and I would not go full bypass on this plane. I chose half bypass just to catch anything the engine might drip out so it does not get onto the landing gear. The plane flies great with no bypass and its much easier to do so its probably better to go that route. If I was starting over I would have not used the half bypass because of all the hacking it took to get it to fit with the K140.

I am likely going without it to start, I know some are using a half-bypass and the inlet extension. I will probably skip that and just mount the turbine and pipe. I wondered though if at least having the half bypass below might protect the LG air system a bit, although it doesn't sound like anyone is having an obvious problem with any setup...?

Yep. No way the 120-160 class will fit in the bypass. It was designed around the cheetah. No problems here on 140rx with no bypass at all. Just run a FOD screen.

Thanks guys.

Anyone adding heat protection to the aft end of the fuel tanks near the servo and light wires? Or is it just not an issure with radiant heat with this installation?

Thanks again,

Dave

No issue for me. The servo wire actually appears to be the new Teflon coated variety and is appears to be heat resistant. Powerbox markets this wire in similar color. The wire is not the same flexibility and consistency (rubber feel) of normal wire which leads me to believe that this is a new type of wire. I could be wrong.

Hi everyone. I am almost done, waiting for a turbine though...

I am using a weatronic receiver set to 6V for output with 7.4 LiMN input - used this for years. I can see this voltage maintained throughout via my laptop/tele. However the electronic board that controls the gear/lights/brakes reads about 5.4V. So, is this possible that the voltage drop is 0.5V with this board?

It seems a bit much to be a drop, but I have to say that I probably believe my Weatronic voltage data a little more..

Anyone else see a "difference" in voltage?

Thanks
Dave

Check with a known voltmeter. Ours are reading correct. Are you certain it is not reading pressure in bar??

soon!
Waiting on a turbine..hope Jetcat will get back to me

Dustin, I checked my Weatronic output and set all to 6V. Inline voltmeter from receiver is pegged at 6V and the LCD reads 5.9, so essentially the same.

How long does it take to add/remove those stores? Will you use different flight modes or model memories for the different configurations or does it fly about the same clean or dirty? They look awesome with everything hanging but does that restrict the flight envelope? All general questions (maybe not specific to this F16) that I have wondered but never asked...

I have not flown it yet armed. They are easy to remove and reinstall. When it gets flown I will remove most of them and add a few at a time after each flight and see how it changes. Been really busy and have not been out to fly since FLjets

Will do soon, but mine looks exactly like Gunradd except I only have sidewinders.

I have to say that this was pretty enjoyable so far and relatively painless. Sometimes for me April and even May can come too quickly when I am behind finishing, painting, installing, etc. I also am enjoying this size right now. I love the bigger jets but 3L instead of 6.4 /flight is kind of nice and this fits in my trailer with the wings on.

Waht are most of you landing with - full flap, tailerons?

Also wondering if most have just run the gear/failsafe as it arrived or did you reprogram or need to adjust the settings?

Thanks

BVM supplies a paper manual with the plane and that makes things very easy. The manual comes complete with a set of cards that you tape onto the plane to get the throws right. After doing some taxi tests Barry and I didn't like the brakes and gear running off the same airsystem. The pressure is to high for non proportional brakes. So I ordered an airpower fill port for the brakes and gear. I added a large airtank and hooked it up to one of the gear tanks in parallel. I used the other medium tank for the brakes. With the brakes lubed and about 50 PSI they work great.

Dustin sent me some lead to balance the stabs. This was not mandatory because the demo planes dont have them balanced and they are flying fine but since I had the time I went ahead and balanced them. Please dont turn this into a huge discussion about balancing stabs . I also installed the static wicks. Still have some more detailing to do then will be off the FLjets and get her flying. Very happy with the plane and cant wait to start flying it.

How did you adpat between airline sizes?

I thought about a different brake as well but dont know how to go from 1/16ID or similar to 2mmOD...?

Thanks
Dave

Dave I just slid regular 3mm line over the 2mm line that's installed in the aircraft on the brake valve. Kinda like how you do the fuel tubing on fuel pumps.
