Made some more progress tonight. Still working on getting the cockpit up to my standards and I painted the fuselage flat black around the cockpit area, it's getting better but I still want to make some trim pieces around the dash to really clean it up. I plumed the canopy latches and mounted the cylinder and it works like a charm!
if you are looking for some better cockpit parts ...

My 300N pipe for the 1/5 F-16 kit arrived today from Skymaster.
I ordered from John at Skymaster on 12 JAN. It arrived today on 20 JAN. Nine days from China, not bad. Cost was $295 shipped paid by PayPal.
Thanks John and Skymaster for your help and excellent service.
Here are the measurements:
Bell mouth inlet diameter 180 mm
Length 990 mm without bell mouth
Length 1066 mm with bell mouth
Inlet OD 135 mm
Inlet ID 120 mm
Exhaust OD 125 mm
Exhaust ID 110 mm
It will be a tight fit, if it will fit into the AB ring I bought with the 1/5 F-16 kit. The ID of the AB ring is 122 mm.

can you confirm the diamter of both pipes of f16.. mine was for P300 and the Exaust Internal diameter is 95mm
Saturday i will fly again.. i move the Cg back... is bettween 265 and 280.. i need more 1/2 pound in the tail to get 280mm.. i will staring add weight after more flights.
regards

Heraldo,
Here is my new 300N pipe next to the pipe from the stock kit. I assume the stock kit pipe is the 200N pipe.
It appears from a quick look that the 300 pipe will have to be shortened to fit. It will also require a custom mount of some kind for inlet end behind the turbine.
Also the stock LED AB ring is too small for the 300 pipe. The ring ID is 122 mm. There is no way to make the ring ID larger.
Stock kit pipe measurements:
Bell mouth inlet diameter 151 mm
Length w/o bell mouth 940 mm
Length w bell mouth 1006 mm
Inlet OD 115 mm
Intake ID 100 mm
Exhaust OD 110 mm
Exhaust ID 95
Hope this helps,
Gary

Tams 300 may be the route to go as its actually even smaller than the stock 200 size pipe but rated for 300N. In fact I would say you could probably get away with using the included stock pipe with the 300. Modelers do this for tomahawk, the same pipe for 160-300. Jacknife is the same way, the included pipe works from 200-300N (also made by tam).

I'm no expert on pipes. I do think you could use the stock 200 pipe with a 300 turbine and it would not be a problem.
I called TAM and his 300 pipe is nearly exactly the same size diameter intake and exhaust as the stock 200 pipe from Skymaster but has a smaller bell mouth and built in mounting tabs. He is currently limited to a 4" intake diameter by the bell mouth he is using and says he is unable to make a larger diameter that would include a bell mouth.
I briefly discussed via email the B300F with Oli at Ultimate Jets. Based on that discussion, I elected to get the larger diameter Skymaster 300 pipe to keep the exhaust velocity lower, but increase static thrust. I have no desire for high speed but want the ability to climb straight up from rotation at take off or from very high AOA slow flight. At least this is what I think I am doing. We will see.
Disadvantage of Skymaster 300 pipe I see so far is it is larger will be more difficult to mount because of the larger bell mouth and you can not use the stock LED AB ring. I will not start the build for at least another month so we will see how it works then.

Today I got the f-16 that I will be assembling, however, It is bitter sweet. The paint and construction seems very nice, but there are a lot of missing items:
1) Missing Cockpit
2) No tip missiles, only rails
3) Missing wing & elevator bags
4) This kit was supposed to have the light kit installed but there are no lights on the wings (upper and lower red/green)
5) No servo arms included
6) No smoke tank (or fittings)
This is the norweigen scheme that was listed on Chief Aircraft, buyer is in communication with S. Coleman and is waiting for an estimate on when these items will be received.
Goal is to have it ready by MS after burner, Power will be a P-300 Jet Cat, I will use the stock though it is rated for 180-200 the diameter is 110mm (I think this may actually be a p300 pipe).
Things that are nice, the gear is very good with the auto lock! Paint looks very good as well. Things that look concerning: Cockpit locking mech, the elevator mech that holds the elevator in place, its just a little clip.

Disco, on my F-16, the top / bottom lights are mounted on the top/bottom of the wingtip rails. I thought these would be on the wings as well, but i have seen full scale reference where its also possible on the tips.

Mine is now with CG at 280mm, is flying better and easier to get the nose up during landing.
With the P300 i can land with 12 minutes and still have 1.5L in the tank. (to big in my opinion)
I will try to do new videos...

Went flying yesterday and saw Barry Hou fly his F-16, watching it fly makes me soooo happy I bought one! He was doing to some awesome super slow High Alfa passes, the thing is crazy stable!!
John, Any updates on the lighting solution yet? Barry was having issues with his lights as well...

Barry, where do you have your CG set?

Is difficult to answer, off course this power is good for vertical performance... I think an F16, with less fuel and a P220 will be very good also... but to have sure we need to fly both.
Mine without fuel and some ordinance has 26.5 kg more or less (DRY), the 300 has almost 30kg of trhust
Mine Tomahawk Hawk has 32 kg dry, that I am sure that the 300 is perfect..

I can tell you that the vertical on Barry's is decent with the 210 and he is running all 3 fuel tanks and a smoke system. He had told me he has quite a bit of fuel left over after his flights. I'm going the lite way on mine and going to run just the saddle tanks for my 210. I did the math on it and that should still produce solid flight times and with out the smoke system (mine is a military scheme any way) I should see about a 7-8 lb saving which should really improve the vertical but time will tell..

I just remember some people commenting that the 1/6 was a different animal with a 200 on board, and I was thinking the 300 may be the same with the 1/5.
I have a 1/5 inbound and I think I'll go the 300. The new 220 has less power than the older 200 so that turned me off a little.
Yes I know there are other great turbines available that aren't purple but I just love the purple ones
Thanks again Heraldo

I will try to do more videos... next week.... but the plane is great.... I think people can start to Fly at 270mm.. mine is already 280mm.... after first flight at 265mm, I remove the 1800mha battery from the nose and install in the rudder... and now I add more 240g in the tail... to get the CG at 280mm.. with 265mm the nose is to heavy...
Other guys can say what CG they are flying?

Would love to see more videos.
Thats interesting. From my experience F16s usually come out nose heavy but the maunal states if you don't plan your build it will come out tail heavy.
I guess it depends on the individual builders approach to the install.

SERVO OPTIONS : Manual shows the JR 8911HV which is a great servo, but I already have lots of the JR 8611A servos, which have the same case dimensions, albeit slightly less torque at 6V, which is what I run.
Can anyone think of a good reason not to use what I already have instead of dropping a pile of cash on the 8911HVs ?
Thanks-Mike O
