I think the issue is the HUD and forward panel deck being too low in relation to the seat, regardless of pilot size. Personally, I like the larger one.

Well hopefully we can get some side view picks to check the canopy to helmet size ratio... I'm pretty picky about my pilots and don't want a bobble head. I had to make my own for their F-18F since their pilots were pea heads...

Thanks for the response. I think I'm leaning towards Chief Aircraft...

Dantley, I used the MPI's because they are not pre-drilled all the way down the arm as the SWB's are. They just have the one hole drilled and tapped at the end. The only one I was able to use the SWB arms for was the Slats, at 10mm...you are close enough to the center and far enough from the last hole. Plus, the MPI's have a spline that go out to about 25mm, so drilling the 10mm for the slats...would have had to grind down the spline.

They worked out well on all the others. Oh and, mine did not come with any servo arms.

Craig, my F16 is ready for maiden flight. I am using stantard aileron and elevator.
With Full FLAP 50mm, i get 21mm slat and still get aileron working as manual.. 17mm each way.
My F16 has a Jetcat P300, afterburner, lights, speedbrake, open canopy and without smoke.. weight 26.5kg (with all missile, and bomb rail on wing but just the tip missile)
CG 265mm (no weight for balance.. congratulations to my builder..)

Someone ask my pilot picture.. (with tailored pilot 1/5 inside.. my builder did some changes in the cockpit)

Looks great! Glad she is ready for maiden! The p300 will push it along with authority, You will find the CG at 280-285 will be the sweet spot on this airframe. Make sure to use expo on all surfaces as she will be very touchy without it.

Look forward to seeing a maiden video!

I am doing the CG now on my F-16. Craig has one of these and several flights on it with the CG at 280. What is the consensus from some others flying these? I am seeing 265 from some posts too.

My idea is to start with 265mm and add weight on tail.. i check that i will need almost 1 pound in the tail to go from 265 to 280mm.
Maiden flight tomorow....if weather help me....
Ordinance paint upgrade...

I did just 2 flights today... but the first impression is that 300 is to much... with half power the F16 go fast.
Vertical performance is amazing...

I need more flights to check better.. maybe with ordinance the power will be nice..
I think the new Jetcat 220 will be a nice turbine, and can change the center tank.. to carry less fuel also..

Amazing pane, but i can tell more after more flights...

I will upload a short video

heraldoboldrin,

Congrats on the successful flights. Your jet looks great and I love the weathering on the ordinance.

I am installing a B300F in mine. What pipe are you using and what is the inlet and exit diameter? I am looking for a larger pipe to reduce the exhaust velocity and help keep the speed down.

Thanks Gary

My assumption would be yes, if you want authority in the vertical.

Congrats! Always good to hear a maiden went well. How was the CG at 265mm? Mine is ready to maiden too. Right now, I am at 270mm. To get to 280mm, I need to add 4oz. to just inside the fuse former that carries the Tail Cone Exhaust.

BTW, this was a first...CG'd the plane without any batteries...the plane was dead nuts on 270mm. Had to get creative on battery placement, all going inside the turbine bay, tucked under the wing faring left and right. I am so thankful I had the Warbirdspilot.com 7oz. pilot rather than a heavy pilot figure.

Rex

My taill pipe is the regular that skymaster send when you ask for P300. i like the quality.
I did just 2 flight.. i need to fly more to check the CG, but my idea is to go 280mm after more flights.
My batteries are in front of cockpit (4 lipo 2s, 2 3300 radio, 1 5000 turbine, 1 1800 lights.), i dont know my pilot weight and i have powerbox royal, air valve under the cockpit.

I think 265 or 270mm are fine for maiden flight, good luck....

Great Maiden! Thanks for the intel. Yea, I'll keep mine at the 270mm mark for maiden and see how it feels there. Now, to figure out the programming on my DX-18 for Elevons and Flaperons!
